It is an old style of controlling the turn signal. When you flipped the switch, it sent fluid down a tube to the signal lamp. This forced a gate open, which acted like a relay and turned the signal on.

I'm guessing he got auto-corrected from brake fluid! :thumb3:

You have to come with something more original. This is the oldest one in the book. In fact, so old it probably matches the date on your birth certificate.

And yes, blinker fluid is the oldest in the book.

ASC/Anti-Lock

Here is the key to this:

When you were accelerating did the engine rev as though it wanted to go or did it feel like you were just pushing on the gas and not much was happening?

The Traction Control/Anti-Skid Control/ABS will override the throttle if the sensors emit a slide or skid condition.

If you have a dirty or faulty sensor the cold weather could certainly be compounding the problem and causing this.

To test, turn off the ASC. If a sensor is the issue the truck should accelerate at will, ice or not.

I would bet that is your issue from what you describe.

Honestly, I've never heard of the scam of blinker fluid before. I was joking, just taking from what he had said. Obviously, I'm not the first to go with that train of thought. But I doubt it matches my birth certificate, as I am not all that much older than my truck.

I haven't. I did the maintenance listed above. Is it just a coincidence that I notice it more often when 4WD is engaged? I found another post titled "Choppy Acceleration" and it explains my symptoms exactly.

I wouldn't know where to begin. Where is this sensor located? How is it cleaned or changed?
