water pump gaskets

Hi,

Purchased a new water pump for my 3.4 and it came with a paper gasket, the rubber gasket for the thermostat and another o-ring. Any idea with the heck this other o-ring is for???

Even the OEM gaskets are better with the rubber embossed metal gasket. When I did the WP on my 2000 I spent a good half hour cleaning that gasket material and RTV off. Finally just figured out to clean it off with a drill and wire brush attachment.

How big is the oring?

O-Ring size

the o-ring is 1-1/2" OD x 1-1/4" ID or 37mm OD x 30mm ID. No idea...

I may go get a Toyota gasket tomorrow...
