Waterproof engine?

So, Ive searched waterproofing an engine... Have found some "hollister" character with a swamped ride...

1. electrical connections,
2. breathers,
a. diffs,
b. transmission,
3. snorkel


what did I miss?

The engine is already water proofed.

The Accessories aren't though. The starter and alternator are pretty week.

HUSBAND: "Water in the carburetor? That's ridiculous."
WIFE: "I tell you the car has water in the carburetor."
HUSBAND: "You don't even know what a carburetor is. I'll check it out. Where's the car?"
WIFE: "In the pool."

That's all I got.

Weakness at the major electrical components seem like a legit concern. Starter doesn't seem nearly as vulerable as the alternator.

I got the diff extension tubes covered on this truck I'm rebuilding, found this little guy when I was pulling my transmission. I'm considering a breather extension on him...



dielectric grease for all connections,

Seems like for a few bucks, I could have some water-fording peace of mind.

You need to make sure the cab is sealed. Water gets into the cab, hits your electronics, you're screwed.

Snorkel wouldn't hurt either.
