Waterproofing

Hey all. Noob runner owner here. This is my first nice "new" 4wd vehicle, and I want to cover all the bases before I screw anything up. Never really considered this in my other beater trucks, but what kind of basic waterproofing can be done to the 4th gen? I'm not thinking full snorkel water crossing stuff, but I have a bad habit of finding puddles that are deeper than they appear. Anything I should look out for?

The rear differential "breather mod" helps if you're into submerging your rear axle for any length of time. I performed this mod on my truck for under $20 and in about 1/2 hour. I'm not sure what other "water proofing" tips you're looking for?
