Weekend maintenance/plans thread......

Now that I'm back for a bit, just washed the old(1990) 4runner. It's getting the following:
1) new cap and rotor
2) NGK wire set
3) factory Toyota speedo cable
4) wax job and vacuum out the interior
The O2 sensor I installed on about half the tank of gas, already raised the average by 2 mpg on a fill up. I'll be interested to see what our mpg looks like on the next fill, which should properly represent the results from the newly installed o2 sensor. The winter weather is working against the mpg though(longer warm up cycle). What's everybody doing this weekend? Hope everyone has a good one, weekend that is. ; )

Did you have a CEL that prompted you to change the 02 sensors?

I'm getting 10mpg (calculated by odometer miles driven/gas input) on stock everything.. Thinking it is time to put in new oem o2 sensor, plugs,wires etc.

Wow yeah I would a least do a tune up plugs, wires, dizzy maybe a new 02

I get about 16 to 19 might hit 20 if im lucky I just try to get the converter to lock up asap.

No CEL, just dreadful MPG. It has definitely improved things, runs cleaner. If I can dig out a timing light, I'll check and see where it's at.

Check your coolant levels too and make sure you don't have any air in the system; this can cause a bouncy idle as well.

I thought after 50k+, the truck was in line for a tune up. The rain out here in the PNW is providing a challenging environment to servicing the truck. ; ) The driver's seat cover gave up, and so I pulled the seat and installed a sheepskin cover from Costco.

Here is the new driver's sheepskin cover(Costco) installed after pulling the seat. Gave me a chance to vacuum out the interior.
