Weird AC Problem

Just last week i went out of town it was rather warm outside so i turned my AC i let it run on full cold for a while (about 2 hours)then i noticed it stopped blowing cold and began shooting out little brown pieces of foam what is going on???

I believe you have a busted AC line. The brown foam you saw was the corrosion within the now unsealed AC system.

yeah it only does it every once and a while its kinda strange

well if it gets cold then you could have an expansion valve freezing up...def check your freon level/pressures

it seems like its some kind of insulation, its brown brittle foam solid but has like an oily residue on it

that's exactly what it is. this is used on the heater doors(fresh&recir), its is also used to seal heater core and evap core. the oil could either be coolant or a/c oil. either way there is a leak. a/c malfunction could be airflow being restricted past thermistor (temp sensor). this part prevents evap core freeze up, which is likely the cause of your troubles. when temp drops below a certain level. a/c operation is stop by the a/c amplifier until thermistor temp goes up. good luck.
