weird banging noise

in 4x4 with hubs locked= noise
in 4x4 with hubs open= no noise
in 4x4 with no front shaft and hubs locked= no noise

we have installed two drive shafts with no luck the diff is a 4.10 with lunch box out of a known source the shafts age bobby long and tired are km2 mud 31x15r

Well its hard to pinpoint on video but my guess is the chain is stretched in the T-case and its jumping teeth under load. Could have a ring gear with some missing teeth too but most likely its the T-case.

Axles still spin in 4wd with hubs locked or unlocked so if it was the hubs the noise would be at the wheel end.

Axles usually wont make noise when the wheels are straight unless something is royally fubar with em.

You ruled out the shaft itself.

It sounds louder at the t-case than the axle in the video. I would split the case and see what you find.

yea that's what I was thinking its the last piece of the puzzle I happen to have a spare to swap in lol I will crack the old one after the Moab trip and post up what I find.... thanks for the help.
