weird noise under load

98 3.4 lt 4 x 4 automatic, when i go up a hill or on slight incline occasionally when i give it gas it makes a fan noise like something in, anyone have clue if you let off the gas it stops making the sound. Could it be my fan clutch going out ??? ..any responses would be helpful, noise is driving me crazy

Is it a fan noise like a "whooosh" sound, or is it like a tapping as if you put a piece of cardboard in a fan?

kind of like a cardboard in the fan mybe but not 100% that sound what does it mean if it is that sound

It's hard to say over the internet, but maybe exhaust leak?

yah i know that just dont want to take it to the shop with out some idea when i go in with noises my bill is a little pricey the card board thing you speak of what would that be

I was thinking valve tap when I said that.

yah just got the valves adjusted but its not like it happens all the time just a weird thing sometimes hard to take to the shop if they cant find it but thanks for the help
