Weird vibration

Hey all, I’m hoping to get some help here as I am at a loss. The other day I caught 4-5 inches of air in the 4runner on asphalt (yes it was fun) but now I have a weird “shake” while driving like a rim is bent. I can’t feel it in the steering wheel and it seems to be coming from the rear of the car.

I thought I may have popped off a wheel weight, so I took it in to get all the tires balanced and they balanced fine, but the shake is still there. I also check the drive shaft to see if I maybe popped off a weight there but they are still on. Nothing looks bent or out of place so now I’m at a loss.

I'd recommend giving your rear upper and lower control arms (and mounting locations) a serious look over. If you would have thought it is coming from the front, (which makes more sense as you feel it in the steering wheel), make sure your power steering rack isn't leaking or low on fluid, not that a bearing race was pushed in from the jar of landing your aerial stunt. Also make sure your steering isn't sloppy when the vehicle is off, you'd be able to tell if there is inherent play in the system.

Is there a specific reason you caught air the other day? Let me guess, you saw your good ol' bud Kyle doing double B's off a gnarly berm on his 'Laris and he bet you a beer to give 'er a go?

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I plan to put the car on a lift tomorrow to give it a once over! The jump was semi intentional, all these taxes dollars hard at work here in LA creating jumps if you hit them fast enough lol

Now you get to donate more tax when you buy new parts.
