found my favorite one of the new one he just finished. hes now picked up my old tube door design and were, mainly him, are working on a full set of tube doors. he just jacked my half finished plans :dance:

Excuse my ignorance, does the airbag sensor mount directly behind the bumper? If so, do any of the diy weld kits have a place to mount the sensor or is it possible to mount it somewhere else that would be sufficient? Thanks

Sensors stay in there location. Most aftermarket bumpers are mounted in the stock mounts if not all.

I am hoping to find a weld your own bumper kit online but am not having very much luck. I found one at NWTRAILINNOVATIONS but that's it. Not sure if there are anymore but I would think that there are. If not, I will settle for a comprehensive plan with measurements for a custom front bumper. I have been wanting a new bumper for a while but just can't justify that $1000-$1300. This will save me a lot of time spent on trial and error.

I appreciate any help ahead of time.

I'm also hoping to start on skid plates soon so if you know of any plans for those, let me know.

They are just up the road from me, I was thinking about stopping by to check one out.

Well if you have a shop doing it you might just come out ahead getting an assembled bumper. I know when I was looking it would have been around $400 on the low range.

Yea I found this out a week ago and was so disappointed! I finally have the money to pull the trigger on one, I go to the site and can't find the DIY kit I then messaged them and they told me the news! I'm thinking about NWTI now.

If you have no way to fit the pieces, weld, grind, sand, paint, and install the bumper yourself, you will probably break even just buying a completed bumper. Time is money, plus all the other consumables that you may use along the way when building. It's also a little hard for a shop to quote out because they have no way to tell how the pieces are going to actually fit together unless they make them. $400 isn't that bad in my opinion but at that price, you might as well just buy the completed bumper.

I started my Relentless Fab front bumper last week. Luckily, most of the pieces fit good but there were a couple that needed some grinding and a couple that I had to make. Still need to weld the outside and grind/sand/paint but it's at least together.

Welding is the number one cost on something like this. Skilled welders make good money and it takes a lot of time to do it properly.

Yeah, Texas is truck country for sure. I always forget until I am down there in a rental car.

Even if you had to pay shipping, ~$400 + options isn't bad for the NWTI bumpers. Comparable in price to most other bumpers if you had to pay a professional welder and opted to powdercoat it. I'll prob. just paint it, cheaper and easier to retouch.

i wanna say like 85-100lbs range. and he usually doesnt, neither of us have tube benders so it takes a good amount of work and time to build them.

Yeah, it was a bummer because the bumper came in pretty quick, well some of it. It looks like Relentless will get paid by UPS then Relentless will send me a new bumper. If I remember right shipping time was only about 2-3 weeks. Honestly, it went by pretty quick. I think it's now been tied up in damage claims longer than it took to show up. UPS has made both Relentless and myself jump through some hoops to get this resolved. Hopefully, this nightmare is almost over.



No chance. The remaining pieces were finally shipped back to Relentless and were scrapped due to the damages. Honestly, I was hoping to end up with it to build a second bumper to sell.

Unfortunately, that's what I heard as well. I don't know the reason behind their decision though.
