Welded nut broke in fram

So I was installing my lift today and was taking the sway bar bolts out to install the sway bar relocates.The nut is welded on the inside of the frame and it ended up breaking off before i could get the bolt out. What is the procedure for removing and re-welding some sort of thread back into that frame hole? there is a small hole above the nut that I can get my fingers into but there no way any sort of tool is getting in there.

I'm finish up the lift tomorrow so timely help would be appreciated.

Remove the nut and drop a carriage bolt through the hole above. The corners of the bolt head will just fit into the hole and then use a nut. That's what I did when the same thing happened to me. If the bolt is stuck on the nt then you will have to cut the head off.

Good Idea. Thank you. Do you know what size carriage bolt you used? If I'm understanding you right it has to be a perfect size for the edges of the bolt to fit tightly in the frame hole.

I just went to Lowes and got what ever the same size as the original bolt that you removed. If that makes sense. If you have trouble feeding the line, tie a piece of string to the carriage bolt and use a vacuum to suck the string through the sway bar hole then you can pull it through.

That vacuum trick works great for feeding wires though places as well.

Just replaced one of mine, the OE bolt is an M10 x 1.25.

Mine was the rear nut, so no way to get in there, I used a RivNut. Holds solid. The damn tool was a lot $ though...

velonici's trick did the job perfectly. Got it done in about 2 minutes and was only 75 cents! Was able to torque it to spec and everything. thanks again. Saved me a lot of trouble
