My best friend and I are pulling the original auto trans out of runner on Sunday. Not sure if we'll get the replacement in but our goal is to get the original out.
Wish me luck.

Any advise? Going to get new trans pan gasket and filter for new(used) one.

I wanna drive my t4r again.

Use jackstands / jacks to support it when you start unbolting it. You dont want that thing slamming down on your hand/face/balls whatever.

Today was kind it's bust, cold and wet with no garage to use. All that got done was draining the trans and Unbolting rear drive shaft from trans. Fluid was a dark color and smelled very burnt( almost looked like engine oil, not good) so I do think pulling it is a good thing, The one iroke and I pulled at least still had red fluid when I pulled the drain plug.
Is the transfer case drained along with the trans? Or is it a separate plug?

Other than some expected surface rust the frame looks to still be good :-) never really been under it enough to tell or not.

Between engine leaking oil and the trans Leak the transmission is so cakes with crud I can't see metal lol
