Well I bought some speakers...

When I first got my 03 4Runner I bought a Kenwood DNN990HD headunit and it honestly improved the sound of the stock speakers enough to where I was happy. But a few days ago I was bored at work and on Crutchfield's website and ended up calling one of their audio pro's and he recommended I upgrade my front speakers to the JBL GT7-6C components with JBL tweeters, and some Kenwood KFC-1665S for the back speakers. He promised I wouldn't be disappointed. He said those new JBL's are pretty slick.

You won't be disappointed, that's for sure! I've always been a huge fan of Harman products (JBL & Infinity).

Did you happen to get an adapter plate to mount it in a 6X9 hole?

I upgraded my speakers and sub (kicker) and added an alpine amp. I kept everything in the stock location and just threw the amp under the passenger seat to keep everything hidden. And i can easily say out of all my mods, its by far my favorite. I use any excuse to drive around and enjoy the new sound.
