Westin Bull Bar finally exists!!!

Can members with the UBB give an opinion on how sturdy the bar is? I'm wondering if it can take a bump without folding back into the bumper causing more damage. (I know the bars, unless it's an ARB or Shrockworks type replacement bumper are mainly for cosmetics and at most parking lot encounters.)

The UBB is definately for cosmetics only. A car moving any faster than 5 mph would probably push this up into the bumper, however, it's a great deterent for those parallel parkers who park by feel instead of sight.

Agreed! I am quite disappointed in this product. I guess I was expecting the type of quality products I have on my Jeep (I've never purchased a Westin product before, but usually people rave about them...for the life of me, I can't figure out why). This thing is held into the frame brackets and kept upright by only TWO bolts. It's very flimsy and wouldn't even take a 5mph hit IMHO.

On the upside, it looks nice and gives you a place to locate fog lamps/extra driving lights.

Definitely agree. I installed my stainless Westin yesterday and it's a show piece. Had I known that it was so flimsy, might not have bought it. As said before it is good for holding a set of lights, though.

Please define what you mean by "flimsy".
 
I've seen them on f150's and Tahoes and they look nice but to bulky for my tast . Also not any type of beef to them at all......agreed , very flimsy IMO. ( but on everyone's behalf , that was my opinion on the F150 and Tahoe mounts , I cant answer for the 4R )

anybody have any pics of the ubb without the skid plate? Just got mine and i was debating on whether or not i should remove it or keep it on? i'm open to any suggestions?
 
Hi! I know it's not t4r but I have a similar kind , I just got it. 180.00 shipped to me and installed it! in my opinion is a better quality and it's about 3.5 in o.d. and it's made by Strona enjoy:)

That's probably the same one that Dean was telling me about for the 2005+ Tacomas.
 
Here's mine - just a plain 'ol el cheapo Safari Bar with some PIAA 525s on it - looks pretty dern sweet with the Jaos grille, since they both generally have the same trapezoidal shape to them...check it out!

no offense to anyone but those look to big,bulky and low hanging for this small of a truck. I still prefer the Safari bar personally.

But hey I dont have either so I'm going by visual alone.
