Was working in the garage when the heavens opened up moving things around. Guess my key fob pressed against my pocket knife or other keys, because the back window rolled down.

Found that after the rain passed, when I went to put lumber in the back.

Lots of towels, sopped up the mess off the interior best as can, and put a container of Kanberra stuff in the back to hopefully keep mold at bay.

Hopefully it'll warm up and I can leave the windows down for a few hours to help it dry out....bummer.

Got me thinking of pulling the fuse, or disabling the button on the remote.

I've had the rain get to my Wrangler so much I pulled the carpet and bedlined the inside. A shop vac and shaking off the vinyl mats and I'm done

I've never gotten rain in the back before but I have come out to the truck and the window was down. If that happens again I'm taking the FOB apart and getting rid of that function. Personally I think its useless without being able to put it back up with it anyway.

I left my tailgate window down by accident one time when it rained, but I have a weather tech mat in the trunk area and everything was perfect. I just pulled my mat forward and dumped out the water. I would highly recommend one of those over disabling anything.

I generally agree with that...However, I'm more concerned about a dopehead climbing in the back and cleaning out the truck, or OD'ing.

Hah! Fair enough. The other thing you can do then is just slightly roll it down. If the window is not completely up, the key fob button won't work to roll it down, neither will the rear defroster.

For what it's worth, the rear carpet is incredibly easy to take out, a tiny bit harder with DD Shelf, but still easy.

Take the 2 10mm bolts out of the ramp thing behind the rear seats, and remove that trim piece. If you have the shelf, remove those 10mm bolts and pull the shelf out.

Unscrew the 5-6 screws on the trim piece where the carpet meets the liftgate and pull that trim piece off.

If you have the DD shelf, use a tiny "L shaped" allen wrench and stick it in the tiny hole in the little floor clip where the DD shelf locks into the floor, and adjust it so the little tongue goes inward and pull up on that side till the clip pops free. Repeat on the opposite clip and it will pop right out. Do both sides.

Then just pull the carpet out. It's not glued or anything. Just let it dry in the sun!
