What are you buying with your corona-cash?

No they wont. Frank-Dodd actof 2010, Fed monitized the debt, no more bailouts only inflation. Money printer goes brrrrrr

Its why everybody can get coronacash/trumpbux right now and they are in talks to extend it to more monthly payments, its dollar liquidation/inflation time. Tax dollars cover nowhere near the fed budget, time to hedge...

Also Oil is worth -$40 a barrell right now, really not good.

I won't be getting a check because I make too much money to qualify. But, if I did get one, I would donate it to people that need it. Not everyone is so lucky to be able to still go to work, work from home or their company is paying them to stay at home. Lots of people are hurting financially and they literally can't feed themselves or their family.

Usually I would agree with you. Mostly. On the topic of free is not free.

But for those of us who play nothing, and usually break even every tax year. (I have for 5 years now) It essentially is free. It's already been noted that you do not have to pay it back. Yes it is an advance of your tax refund from next year, but again, if you don't usually receive a refund then you can consider it a "tax cut".

Also, I really don't understand why there are so many shame posts. Are people are just trying to troll, or what? Totally unnecessary. I mean if we're going to be that silly about it then we might as well all collectively stop doing any kind of hobby stuff and donate all our money to others. Obviously that is just silly.

I'm not going to get into it too much here, but I've been financially prepared situation like this for about 10 years. Some people were not. Is what it is.

If somebody wants to use it to buy sweet ass truck stuff or other things, then that is their prerogative. There's literally no reason to be ridiculing anyone for it.

No need to be "high horsing" it.

What is the difference in buying a bumper now, vs saving and buying it later? Nothing.

I don't think anyone is trolling this, but rather pointing out the lack of wisdom in spending a rather significant amount of 'free' money in an unstable economic environment.

Consider this very possible scenario: you're considered 'essential', so you're not laid off or furloughed. You're paycheck comes in like normal, so you buy that bumper with your 'free money'.
But the clients you support are not 'essential', so they're not allowed to work, so your business is down, so your boss can't afford to pay you, so he lays you off, even though you technically are allowed to work. Now you have a neat bumper, when you would otherwise have cash to help you along until you get another job.

You have no savings (sad but true for most of America), so you miss your rent and get evicted, when that 'free money' could have bought you another month. This is happening everywhere.

Save that money until the economy stabilizes, and THEN spend it if you so choose. Large portions of the country being homeless isn't exactly a good thing.

Ordered my lift!

Eibach coils, OME 890 coils with trim packers, and Bilstein 5100s. $716 shipped from wheelers, 10% “new user” discount plus free shipping and no tax.

Anyone who got a check is paying it back with interest next tax time. For those who can afford to spend it on toys more power to ya.

god i wish this would die. this information is not correct; a quick google and 60 seconds of reading and you would know this.

yes we will pay it back as a nation down the road in one way or another, but we are not individually paying these back next tax season.

If you don't have the money to ride this out then yeah, save the check. That should be obvious.

If people didn't save up for such an event, then that's on them. Yes some may not be able to, but that's life.
Personally my job is rock solid and will remain so (AT&T is our client), but even if it wasn't I could ride out the rest of the year if need be without the $1200 check. People joke and proad at me all the time about how much I pinch pennies until something like this happens. Then they become jealous and upset. I see this happen to a lot of folks now days.

I digress.

I'm not here to disparage anyone.
Let leave it as this: For some of us, this basically is free money that we can do whatever with, without issue. For some others, it is crucial survival money that they can't afford to mess around with.

Neither side needs to rude about it to the other side though.

It is what it is.

I'm here to see cool truck mods and what not, let's get back to that.

Round these parts they can’t evict you for not paying rent. So there’s that.

But.... do you really think the people that need this money are going to make good choices with it? Even if they did, would $1200 be significant? Them same folks probably have cable, smart phones, satellite radio, high speed internet, new cars, ect....

How would large portions of the country become homeless? Are you expecting large numbers of empty apartments? Wouldn’t that drive rent down and be a good thing?
The homeless around these parts are that by choice, not due to the economy. They are a steadily growing population.

I guess I don’t see it. This money looks like those Payday Loan outfits to me. Just can’t see how it would help in the long run. Round here it would just cover one months rent. Then what?

lol why troll on debt, who really thinks the United States will pay any of this "debt" back? On another note, "Americans will pay the debt back down the road" sure they will, im 24, and my great grandchildren will still be born into a nation that is trillions in "debt". It will always be this way as long as the entire political spectrum remains more of a joke than anything the comedy central channel can even dream of producing.

At the end of the day debt and loans and money etc, is all just digits on a screen. Debt is just as imaginary as the value of which people have placed on it. Money that isnt backed by a standard of value has no value but the value others place on it.

So, what do I say to all of this? If you can blow your imaginary digits on real merchandise, than so be it! One day our nation will be enslaved due to our monetary "debts" anyways so might as well have fun now right?! If the virus originated in the U.S. we would be spewing our imaginary digits all over the globe, helping all of those in need and "paying for our mistakes" sadly the United States people who have always played a role in "saving" nations around the world will be laid out to dry by all of this by the same nation we owe trillions of dollars to, ironic right?

I came back looking for ideas on how to build up my 4Runner. This thread is getting weird.

Went from what we are doing with cash, to investment ideas, to tax "advice", to modern fiscal policy and the long-term effects of debt on the US economy.

Right? Not at all what I wanted. I just wanted to see cool stuff and get ideas.
:noidea:

I haven't seen my coronabux yet, but I already spent most of it last Friday on my old Audi...converting it from automagic to 6-speed.
