What are you using for strap/hook anchor points/tie-downs?

I ordered my Matterhorn MKII. I am SO excited. Now as I wait I'm starting to research different tie down options and ways to secure loads on top of the rack. What popular options for strap/hook anchor points/tie-downs are there out there? I've looked at the Sherpa Smiley and it's a great looking and quality piece of hardware, but honestly, with a price point starting at $22 a pop I feel it's necessary to find out what other options there may be out there. It should preferably be something that has direct compatibility with the 20x40 extruded aluminum crossbars on Sherpa's roof rack systems.

I have the same rack and honestly, I sometimes miss my Rhino mesh rack. The mesh is so easy to tie down to; you can hook literally anywhere, although the Matterhorn is way cleaner looking.
Anyway, I went and bought a pack of soft tie downs to hook ratchet straps to. Problem solved.

Sometimes it’s more effective to use long lashing straps, although ratchet straps are usually easier with their hooks.

Great idea! I like the idea of soft tie downs. A bit more flexibility in locating and finagling them around cargo rather than a hard mount.
