What was your experience on pad wear? How often did you have to replace your them. Again. I'm not 4-wheeling. We do have hills.
Toyota seems to be the only OEM brake sets that DO NOT come with the Shim Kit. They keep re using old ones until you STOP THEM! The Shim is a thin Plate that sits behind the pad and absorbs the pressure of the caliper pressing on the pad. It is there to Prevent squeaking BUT if you never change it, it will be the Source of the squeaking, squeeling. Causing you to come back for new brake pads prematurely.
Plenty of good pads, Toyota pads just last longer though. Probably the only time you'll ever do the brakes.
Was that a joke?
The rear shoes probably get replaced once.
But the fronts are more frequent.
Aren't they?

Yes, they are more frequent than the rears but I've put over 80,000 miles and counting on a single set of front disk brakes. It also depends on your driving style and how hard you are on them.
That sounds more like what we would expect which is the rears to last twice as long as the fronts where the rears might go, depending on lots of factors, from 150K to 200K miles (also depending on how close you want to get that bottom front corner of the shoe to the metal backing).
I would expect in general about 80K on the front and 160K on the back.
I would expect the rotors to last two pad or shoe changes.
That makes the rotors around 160K and the drums at close to lifetime mileage of 320K.
That means only the drums are once in a lifetime of a Toyota 4Runner! LOL
Yeah I did rear shoes at 200k because of leaky axle seals and had the drums resurfaced, they were pitted pretty bad though. But for about $40 I had brand new drums essentially so I guess I'm good until 400k lol.
OEM tundra brembo pads (and brembo rotors)
Wow!!! that a $Hit load of miles on a set of OEM pads.
Is your rig a daily driver?
I'm using he duralast cmax pads I think. I'm on my 2nd set at 140k miles. I only replaced the first set as I had a frozen caliper that was wearing the one pad uneven. The other side was only wore about 1mm from the new set. I put the first set on at 90k and the replacements around 130k. They grab just as good as my stock pads (that I remember) and the warranty of worth it to me. Even if I have to replace them every 2 years it take an hour tops and I spent no extra money. What was your experience on pad wear? How often did you have to replace your them. Again. I still have the original headlamp bulbs after 20 years too and a few other things that lasted weirdly long.
