What could I coat my new winch bumper with ?

I'm receiving my custom wrinch bumper, in a couple of weeks what should I coat it with herculiner, armorcoat or something else ?
I'm open to suggestions.

Rustoleum satin black (or gloss, matte, or any other rattle can) is cheap, and can be used on your sliders and skids too.
 
I fully expect to scratch up my Demello bumper so I just went with 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of rustoleum matte black.
 
If you want to go full guinea pig - check out the powder coating kit from harbor freight and let us know how it works. I am going to check it out when I get sliders.
 
I saw a ford truck here in town painted Michigan St green with stuff called scorpion liner. He had even added flake to it.

It actually looked really damn good. He said he had beat on it with a hammer, etc... and the stuff wouldn't come off.
 
Coat it with mud! Rustoleum is fine if you don't want to spend much. My ARB had some poor powder coat in a few places and started to rust immediately, it was all in hidden places I only saw because I was up under/behind it wiring lights but still pissed me off. I sprayed the heck out of it, so far so good.

I do the same thing with the frame, skids, tow hitch, etc. on occasion.

I don't mind spending the money or time if it lasts

Why hasn't more of you recommend a applying bed liner coating ? Is a waste of time ?

YOu have to bake powder coat. Unless you have a giant oven with convection laying around... Not gonna work.

That said, the HF powder coat gun is great. I use a big toaster oven with convection to bake the parts (after sandblasting) And have restores many motorcycle parts this way.

Haha... forgot that one minor detail...
 
I used monstaliner on my front bumper. Chose it because it's supposed to be UV resistant and so far it's still as black as the day I put it on. Has held up great too. I plan on doing my rear bumper with it too sometime. On the rear, I originally used some rustoleum primer and rustoleum black enamel spray paint. Hasn't held up too well and has faded a bit. My build thread has a few more details.
 
If it wereme I would take it to a shop that does Rhino Liner and have them do the bumper. No rattle can spray of any kind will be durable and you will always be touching it up and eventually fighting rust.
 
I had line-x do mine. (Idk dude that built the bumpers deal ) But if you can find a good powder coating guy and do that, its worth it.
