What did everyone pay for their 4th gen?

Well, I guess I get to post in both the 3rd gen and 4th gen sections. I bought my 2004 used from a private seller in 2008. 41,000 miles, I got it for $12,000. Here in Georgia, if you buy from a private person, you don't have to pay taxes. My 3rd generation 2001, I got new, I paid twice as much.

I have 69,000 miles on it now. Still the same set of tires. I have been very pleased with both 4Runners.

In April 2011, bought a Certified 2008 SR5 V6 Mag Gray with 34k miles for $23500.

Last weekend, I traded it in with 41k miles for a 2007 Sport V8 with only 21k miles (from Nissan dealership). $21k for the trade, $24.2 for the Sport.

$3200 for the upgrade to a V8 which I think is priceless.

It was BRAND NEW and had 3 miles on it when I drove it off the lot

I've enjoyed the Sport V8 full time awd...glad it was the model I bought...if you drive a regular 4runner back to back with a 4runner with XREAS, the handling is night and day...i can turn and take corners like a car

I have no idea how much the option was when new, but it was worth it to me.

BUT, trading cars as often as I have recently is not ever going to work out well financially no matter what the circumstances.

Sept 2010 - Bought 09 BMW 328i (base model)
April 2011 - traded BMW for 08 4Runner (lost $2k)
Feb 2012 - traded 08 4Runner for 07 4Runner as described above (lost $3200)

This is stopping here, I can guarantee that. This 07 Sport is exactly what I want.

My other cars are 99 Pathfinder and 07 Pilot which I would never consider parting with.

I'm out of the car business for at least 4 years (when my youngest drives).

Bought mine December 2010 with 39k miles. Absolutely mint inside and out. V8, nav, entertainment pkg, satellite, etc... Was a corporate lease vehicle. Still had the plastic on the climate and rear TV screen. Paid $32,900, which included delivery from California to Colorado. The window sticker was attached, $45,989 brand new.

I paid ~ 25,000 for a 2008 SR5 V8 in Dec, 2011. It had just shy of 21,000 mi on it and was spotless. Previous owner was commander of a bomb squad and I figured that anyone who spends time deciding whether to cut the blue wire or the yellow wire first is probably pretty meticulous and pays attention to detail. It was like buying a new vehicle for me.

I just sold my 07 v6 sport and picked up an 07 sport v8 certified with 66k miles. White, black leather, basically loaded except for nav for $22.9k. I love it except for the gas milage compared to the v6 lol. One owner completely dealer maintained since new. I know I paid retail, but she is purty...

Maxim, why did you trade up for the V8? i used to own a 2003 Limited V8 and i loved the AWD and the low end torque. I haven't driven a V6 yet but i did drive an 07 Tacoma V6 and i believe the engines are similar. Are you glad you got the V8 now and do you do any towing?
