ok so probably a few months ago i had my good buddy who is a toyota master tech come over and we ran some engine cleaner through the engine and i put new plugs in the new ones were single electrode plugs but i got them through toyota who has my vin number and sells everything to me cheaper then the internet so i did not second guess them and my buddy said that they are fine to use. until i just noticed this

now i am worried that i ****ed something up, i have noticed way worse fuel mileage i just thought it was the summer fuel and hotter weather but im getting like 14 mpg down from close to 17. i also pull a big (for the 4runner) boat, but it never got that bad before. i also did not change my wires because i have always just replaced them once they go bad, so i am wounding why so many people just replace them part of there tune up?? so please let me know what is going on!!!:attention:

But thats so far away!

Ha! And I didnt' even notice your in Miami. You don't even have winters there..

What I would do:

1) For piece of mind, I would go grab some dual electrode plugs. (Denso or NGK)
2) I would then gap them to .044".
3) Put some Anti-Seize around the threads on each spark plug.
4) Thread them in until their "nice 'n tight." (No need to guerrilla fist them.)

Single electrode spark plugs are fine, but with dual electrode plugs, people claim they get -- quicker starts, smoother acceleration, and overall better combustion and fuel efficiency.

hahah I guess I should change that MI is for merritt island right next to cocoa beach, and cape canaveral were the space ships are from!

Probably will do that!

how did you know i love over tighting bolts to they break! thats my specialty!

waste spark ignitions require double platinum plugs to function properly. With single platinum etc, the ability to ground is reduced. Plug life is also greatly reduced.

Ah, I have family in Daytona and Jacksonville. I was wondering how you were finding land to wheel on. I was expecting to see you in downtown Miami with strobe lights on the runner, and Cubans hanging out of the window. (Lord, I apologize...)

And I was putting the guerrilla fist for anyone who read it, haha!

My damn phone wants to auto-correct "guerilla" to "margarita." I'm on Wednesday time, but my phone thinks its Friday.

The world could stand a few more things being corrected to margarita. The driver in front of me, for example.

if any one was worried!!!!

I went to toyota (were they sold me the wrong ones) and told the parts guy(my buddy) about it and he looked it up again and came out with the right ones this time. so i think he must have clicked on my 2nd gen vin in the computer! so he just gave me a new set of plugs (for free), and I bought new wires too! went home and through them in. cloud not believe the difference, just from starting better to smooth idel and much better throttle response. I am still waiting in the mpg readings on my next tank of gas!
