Replaced the steering rack, tie rods, changed the oil, added the quick drain oil valve, switched the winch from wire to synthetic.

Finally got around to putting on my new Tundra brakes! I got the Power Stop drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads and powder coated calipers. Not sure how they compare to OEM Tundra brakes, but compared to what I had, these have been awesome. My old brakes were LOOOOONG overdue. I had to take a hammer just to get the calipers off the old warped and lipped out rotors.

You should have seen the rear brake spring go flying in my garage 2 weeks ago. The 20 minutes of searching for the dam thing was pretty funny too. lol

The other week I snipped two rusty triple fishing hooks off a big lure I found on the beach, I put some boathouse keys on it so if they fall in the water they float. I did this in my garage. Both hooks went flying, I only found one. I have no idea where the second one is but I'm sure when I find it it will either be funny or painful.

Finally got around to knocking out some work on the 4R today. This morning I replaced the driver's side CV axle due to a busted boot slinging grease everywhere. Then this afternoon I finally installed the attachment rod for the annex for my Mt Shasta RTT. Overall a good day.

Looks good so far.. I have been thinking of going this route as well. There are a few companies making similar racks for newer models, but nothing for the 3rd gens....

Tightened up slack on all the cables under the hood again. Routed aux transmission cooler in to radiator's cooler finally. I had isolated it when I first bought the car, put in a new radiator a few years later, and watched in horror every time I towed or went off road last summer. Going 5mph up a mountain aiming in to peak summer sun was too much for the B&M cooler I put on to handle.
So yeah. Drained 5 qts again from the transmission, hooked up the radiator, refilled the 5 qts + a 'little' more. Miraculously ended up a quart overfilled and had to tediously remove scolding hot fluid through the drain bolt. If anyone ever does this, unscrew it until it's hanging on by just half a thread and it'll trickle. Go make and eat 5 sandwiches and it'll be close to good after that.
That 'little' extra I added back in cost me like 1.5 hrs extra of time :gun6: Totally worth it though and no worries given the radiator is pretty new. Temperature is much more consistent now, steady at about 30* below the coolant temperature after running it on the interstate.

Installed LBJs on my 99 2WD today. I had to remove the caliper and dust shields to get good access but it was pretty easy. I used a pitman arm puller for both ball joints (steering and spindle)
I would rate this task a 3 or 4 on a difficulty scale of 1-10, maybe even lower. What's crazy is how much shops want to charge for this when it can be done in a few beers time with proper tools. The video [MENTION=120071]mtbtim[/MENTION] made didnt hurt either. ��

Bought a 99 4Runner two days ago, I cleaned out the interior in all the cracks and crevices, already searching for my first mod(a very simple one)- a trailer hitch! Probably going used off craigslist
