Yeah, alternator charges both Batts, Aux batt can be isolated and completely discharged without any drain on main batt. I took the lower part of the back seat out for more room and seats still fold down flat.

You've got quite the collection these days! Black in the desert though? You cray.
We looked at the rather difficult to find 2009 Trail Edition for a bit a few months back (don't tell my 3rd gen...) but could not find a single one outside of Ohio. I DID however see one parked outside Domino's weekend before last.
My intention was to list my 4Runner for far too much, and if someone bought it, get the trail. Call me crazy, but I love the design of the 4th gen.
Alex, agree with you... but I hate the 5th with a passion.

It might be psychological but it seems smoother and faster now.
I can't remember before but touching the inlet manifold at idle and it can hardly tell the engine is on. tough the fuel rail crossover and you can feel the injectors pulsing as a distinctive feel, that's how smooth the engine is! Got to love the 1UZ.
I also investigated my A/C.. I thought it needed re-gassing but the gas appears to be good.. I think the compressor is FUBAR
which if it is means the entire system will need evacuating, flushing through etc...

Looked at mine sitting partially dismantled as it rained rained rained....and rained = no valve cover gaskety goodness for the me. :twitch:

This one came from Phoenix, and you wouldn't believe the condition of the paint, especially being black. It was parked in a garage everywhere it went, and we'll be keeping that tradition alive while we own it.
Also, ABQ is high desert, so it's only hot for about 3 months, and by hot I mean 90-100, not 100-120 like Phoenix.
Nope. Just the 1GR-FE with VVTI. It's got plenty of go for the Mrs.
In fact, I bet that in stock form, it would spank both the Tacoma and my '01 (both SC'd) in a sprint to 80mph.

2001-05 Celica wheel swap. Used the airbag plug from the Celica clock spring and moved it to the 4R. Used my original cruise switch with some slight mods. It had one little wear spot on top so I added a fresh leather wheel skin. All went well except I cannot get the horn to work properly. Just blows continuously. I am sure its a simple solution but I took the fuse out for now until I do some research. Anyone else have this horn issue after a steering wheel swap? EDIT: Horn issue sorted out. Wire came loose when installing airbag, DOH.

Nicely done.
So i put my 3 inch lift on the front of my truck then went to adjust my toe a little when this happened...something doesnt look right here.
Anyway right now I'm sitting here at 8:50 pm waiting on my parents to drop off a new set of tierods here so i can get the truck going again.....of course, i have my bmw, mgb and bike in the garage but the truck is sitting in the door blocking EVERYTHING in lol...

My AVS vent visors got in, so I threw those on. Honestly, not too impressed with the quality up close, but they should do their job fine. I think they look good from a distance, but importantly we can vent the cab when it's raining and we are sleeping in there.

Very messy edge cuts
Also picked up some socket rails from Harbor Freight to keep all the sockets I keep in the truck organized. I wrapped all the sockets with a bit of electrical tape to avoid rattling. Then I screwed the rails into the bottom of one side of my sleeping platform (other side has a seat for now for extra passengers). We'll see how it holds up!

Big upgrades today, New BFG KO2 285's, (had the stock 225's on there before) New Power steering rack, (old one was leaky) and new Toytec / Bilstein 3lift kit.(oem suspension was shot, not sure its ever been changed in 300k miles)
All this stuff is in addition to what we did 2 months ago which was ...
2x ball joints

2x Brake calipers
1x Axle seal
1x Axle shaft
Tie rod ends

Brake fluid
We paid $3500 for the car and to date put an extra $6000 into it.
