Yup, finally did it, Toytec Boss 3" Lift kit. Sits so much nicer now.
Rides nice hwy, back roads, and Florida trails. Doubt it will get tested to potential, but like to know it's there if I need it.

What did you do to your 3rd gen today?

Did this yesterday. Only did the front doors and it was my first time adding some sound deadening material to the doors after replacing my old aftermarket speakers with new ones about a week or so ago.

Last pic was before I removed the speaker housing and added the sound deadening. Will be going back again and adding foil tape to cover the black butyl rubber adhesive.

Busy day, finally got around to replacing my AC tensioner & Belt, as well as completed my Tundra brake upgrade and differential breather mod.

Lots of progress until I realized one of the valve covers I had off a few weeks ago to replace the gaskets was cracked......... :flamethrwoer2:

Just an FYI if those are reman'd calipers, you probably want to put a coat of paint or at least clear on those ASAP or they will rust and look crappy in a week. Ask me how I know.

got a quote to replace my LBJ's and install a set of Light Racing Uppers...

$140 each for LBJ(OEM Toyota) - shop will only warranty their work if they order the parts. i specifically requested OEM toyota parts and he said that wouldnt be an issue.

LBJ's bought and installed - $460.

LBJ's bought and installed, and UCA's installed - $600.


seems light a pretty decent deal to me, what are you guys paying for these repairs? I can do the work myself but dont want to deal with ball joints.

Knowing you can do them yourself...you're raping yourself of $280 just on the LBJ. You can get them for 180/pair and rent free tools.

Camelback Toyota parts. Super cheap. I just bought new lbj,ubj, tie Rods, shocks. I think free shipping over $150 too.

Finally pulled the trigger on a winch. It was down to SuperWinch or Engo. Then I found this deal for the Engo 77-12000PFS. It ended up being 100 bucks cheaper then the SW and 2500lbs more power. And with that I open the door to all the Warn fanboys. lol

No problem! I'm fairly new here and people are usually quick to help guide and lend a hand! I'f you have the money, by all means, let someone else do it. living in the rust belt, my LBJ SUCKED! but I'm sure if I let someone else do it, it would've cost me 3x as much. I'd do it all over again though.

Through a quick google search, they offer like a 3-5% discount too, i think on Tacoma forums.

im in texas, and the undercarriage has been coated so luckily no rust for me. ive got the knowledge and tools besides a balljoint puller, i just hate messing with them

If you have a 14, 19, and 24mm socket, a tie rod/bj press/removal tool, can take off your wheel, safely support your vehicle, and torque your 14, 19, and 24mm nuts/bolts to 55, 53, and 105ftlbs of torque- you can do this! [emoji6]

While you've got everything slay you should check your lca bushings and your steering rack bushings

CS144 alternator upgrade. Super easy, took a little over an hour from start to finish using wire adapter. Existing belt worked fine. From 80 amps to 140 amps.

Camelback is popular but they wouldn't ship to a different address than on the credit card.

I use Toyota Dallas, prices are as good as Camelback. And they ship to my work. I see you are in Dallas, might want to try them.
