I can't believe I'm typing this but that sticker makes me miss Jersey. That kind of humor doesn't fly that well out here on the left coast. I'm still waiting for Relentless to finish my bumper then I can spool my winch. Nothing much done to my rig recently. Last week I started a remodel of our guest bath and that's been sucking up all my free time. It'll keep the wife happy which will allow me to dump more money into the runner in the future. I swear marriage is like a chess game sometimes. lol

Dropped the A340E off the jack while installing after replacing the rear main seal. Pulled the wires right out of the terminals of the gray Park/ Neutral position switch.

Well...I bought a new one yesterday! I didn't think I would find one as soon as I did, but I am definitely happy with the purchase. I found this one on a lot in Santa Cruz after checking one out earlier in the day in Dublin. It's a 2001 SR5 Sport with 4wd in Millennium Silver with 215,000 miles.. The color keeps throwing me off since I'm so used to the black, but I'm sure it will grow on me quickly. Unfortunately the engine was completely detailed, so it will be hard to tell if anything is wrong with it for quite some time. It does have nice maintenance records from the dealer with 2 timing belts and water pumps done on time! The best part about it so far is no rust whatsoever! I am excited to see how this next one will turn out. I'm sure much better than the last. :biggrin1:

I'm still waiting for suspension parts. So, I cut, drilled, mocked up, tack welded my winch receiver. I was in the process of bending some protective hoops...out of acetylene! CRAP...Oh well will get some gas and get the last hoop bent and welded up hopefully tomorrow. I had time to burn so I finished up my Nephew's Euro's.

Was quoted $90 to remove the cheesy side decals on my 2002. They also said that a full detail was required as well - another $180 or so (the Wax Shack in Austin).
I did some research and bought a Wizzy Wheel on Amazon for $25. Forty five minutes later I'm done. I'll need to take the orbital to it with some compound to really clean it up, but I'm pleased with the results.

It's not sexy work, but I spent an hour or two underneath the 4Runner with sandpaper and rust converter spray paint banishing the spotty surface rust from the frame. The hitch is going to get pulled tomorrow as it's the worst rust offender on the car; I'm tempted to skip the repaint altogether and just put a real bumper with a built-in hitch (and maybe swing out tire carrier?) on it instead.

Mind me asking what you use to detail that and how you go about doing it without harming any critical components? Mine needs done bad! I'm used to a dirty/muddy engine bay (jeeps) but I want to keep this one nice.
