I took on the task of trying to save my rear bumper from rust... It would of been easier just to build a custom bumper... :redbrick:

- 2 snapped bolts
- bolts holding 3 pieces together have rusted heads and wont loosen
- 10lbs of mud that the previous owner decided not to remove
- grumpy wife cause it took half the day

Tomorrow... more sanding, priming and then EZ Liner bedliner

4Runner sits at the office for a much needed break while im on the rig so I figured I would go ahead and buy my CB stuff...Snagged a Midland 1001LWX, Pyle PA Speaker, ODL CB Antenna Mount...Then got her a new set of eyes (headlight assm.) since mine cracked last week while on the trail from a buddy launching a rock, and snagged some LED interior lights since my main dome went out...cant wait!

Bypassed the DRLs and rewired the foglights (on with parking lights and high beams) using these write-ups

PITA trying to un-pin the connector,cut and tape the black/yellow wire. Cut and spliced the green/black foglight wire to the white/black wire.
I didn't take the /relay box apart. I bent terminal one,trimmed it a little,soldered a wire to it,and tapped into the tail fuse.

This is the terminal I bent,trimmed,and soldered and the fuse I tapped into.

I used a thin gauge wire,there's no need to use something thick because it's the low-current (coil) side of the relay circuit,not the circuit actually powering the fogs.

Tomorrow I'm going to mount my transmission temp. gauge and pod! I had a heck of a time sourcing this pod in Canada and it turned out to be $$! I'm following the same installation example as pdx650! I'll post pics when complete!

Went to fix my 2nd broken antenna....The teeth busted off the mast again. Gonna order ONE last antenna online, and if this one eventually breaks again, I'm doin the tacoma whip mod.

Thanks again for sharing! That pod setup is so clean. I plan on following your procedure, however,
I tried Amazon for the pod but they wouldn’t ship cross border! Amazon.ca didn’t list it! I found other suppliers, but shipping was 6 weeks and $$.... I lucked out with the supplier I eventually settled on. Auto/truck and especially marine parts are OBSCENELY expensive for shipping and duty from the USA. When I lived in Vancouver BC, it was no big deal to ship to a USA address and drive the parts across the border, as I was 5 min to Sumas WA. Now, however, I’m a 2.5 hour drive to Oroville WA.
I’m looking forward to recording some temp data, and if need be, I plan on adding a fan to my tranny cooler. Instead of spending money on a mechanical thermo switch to control the fan cycle, I’d like to connect an control circuit to the Autometer gauge sensor. I’ve surplus parts in my basement shop, so I might as well put them to good use!

About a month ago I topped off the cooling system and now I have to drain it. Topped it off with 50/50 Dexcool and I read that was a no no.... and now reading the system needs flushed every 150k miles or 5 years. It probably has the same coolant it drove off the lot with, so its needed even w/o me contaminating the system. :redbrick:
