I painted the steel skidplate Rustoleum "aluminum" silver, to look aluminum. lol. Though, Im starting to think it looks like a smitty brushguard and may end up painting it black instead. These come unpainted, and unless you want to pay a sh*t-ton for shipping, the front hoop comes unwelded. Which at least means you can put it in any position you like. I opted for a very forward position

Swapped out my Rough Country N2.0 shocks that I had on the back for some Tundra 5100s. Ride is much better. The back now matches the front in terms of shock dampening.

Hit 219,419 miles on the way to work this mornijg. Doing a little shopping for new struts and shocks, for the third or fourth time, I forget.
Family and friends keep telling me to ditch the Runner and get a new vehicle. I probalby should, but it just keeps on soldiering on and the maintenance is cheaper than new car payments. I lnow someday I will have to retire it, but not today.
Still wishing it was 4WD. I bought it for the ex and she didn't want a 4WD. Shoulda been my first clue...

Got my alignment done for the second time this week. It was my first alignment since the lift and the first Firestone was lazy and I left with the truck veering to the right and more camber than I came in with. Second Firestone was awesome! Also fixed the knocking at full wheel lock, a little grease on the new LBJ's and wammo! Grease lightning.. Sorry for the horrible reference but i was ecstatic that a $3 tub of grease fixed a problem..well not the whole tub.

vacuumed it out, cleaned the floor mats, put some mothers back to black on the fender flares and rear bumper cap... and then sat in my garage and stared at it until i fell asleep, and took a nap.

Why would friend and family tell you to get a new vehicle? Unless it constantly breaks down and you trouble them for a ride. They should keep their mouth shut..

They are of the opinion that anything with over 100,000 miles on it is a deathtrap and a money pit. None of them have ever owned a Toyota and just don't get it. I feel sorry for them at times.
No real issues with my ride other than just basic maintenance, which is to be expected. Stuff wears out and i have known that for years. I've formed a weird affection for my old beater and if I cannot get at least 250k out of her I am going to be disappointed. I would love to get 300k if at all possible.

Funny you should mention that because, and I kid you not, I have another spider living in my 4runner. I tried to tell you guys, these f'ers have it out for me!
This one seems to be content living somewhere up in the passenger side of the dash/glove box area though, and I had a visual on him at one point (he's a confirmed small guy), so I'm not too worried about it at the moment.
Have you heard about the new Toyota recall?

Used it to move houses! Loving the ultimate kit. Rides great and this is with the trailer FULL of furniture 2 dressers 4 matress recliner and a washer and dryer and it still doesn't sag to much.
Only thing is I have the 5125 in the rear with the bracket. Has anyone had the problem of a bad clonking sound when going over a spend bump or hitting a good bump in the road. It sounds like my rear end is falling apart? Any help?

Always been a little jealous of the 99+ Rear storage compartment. Got one from an 02 at the local pickNpull for $15. Had to do a little cutting on sheet metal behind the panel. But all in all it was pretty straight forward swap. Plus now I have a 12v outlet on the back too:whoo:

You have to torque the top nut pretty tight. I ran that adapter for a while and never had a issue with it after i really cranked on it.
