How many cans?

I used roughly 2 1/2 cans for a total of 6 coats. A little excessive but it's about easier to peel off.

I installed ditch light brackets and 4" LEDs. I also finished my sleeping platform/cargo storage.

Well, I just did a transmission fluid exchange.. 4 gallons worth.. Used dexron 3 supertech brand.. The old trans fluid was very dark.. I feel better now..

I got suckered into ordering a Ultraguage. I origionally just wanted to order a decent scanner.. but once again. spending time on t4r forum makes me spend more than what I planned.

Ultragauge is cool. You'll like it, although for your year I would have spent the extra on the scangauge since it will read trans temps. The ultragauge won't.

Replaced spark plugs, spark plug wires, PCV and grommet, cleaned MAF and throttle body. I will be changing the diff, transfer case and manual tranny oils in a couple of days.

what method did you use to flush the tranny? im about to do mine.

Take the driver side line from the radiator. Connect a line from the nipple. Start the truck and let it dran 2 quarts of fluid at a time and fill with 2 quarts.

I just looked at the FAq. On this site. I didn't realise the fluid was so fark you can't really tell when you check the dipstick that's its that dark.

Just ordered a used scoop insert for my sport hood and found a guy to paint everything to factory evergreen pearl to match my truck. Total cost...

$215 for a genuine toyota sport hood painted to match. Cant wait to get it all done.
I paid $40 for the hood brand new off craigslist, $50 shipped for the insert and $125 for paint.

Like I said, I found the hood locally on craigslist. Guy had a huge junkyard type deal (does alot of body work) and had the hood listed in the same ad as about 15 other hoods. I knew immediately from the picture that it was a 3rd gen sport hood so I snatched it up. It was brand new (never painted and still had the ink coat from shipping) He was asking $80 but because it had a small dent on one edge (which he fixed anyway) i talked him down to $40.

I have been looking everywhere for a scoop insert because I wasnt going to pay $150 for a new one and just found this one today online. has a small spot that will need a tiny bit of bondo on the top edge but because of that, im getting it for $50 shipped.

Also found a guy on craigslist who works at a local body shop but does paint and body work jobs on the side for extra cash and he said he has some evergreen pearl paint left from a job he did a little while ago so he would only charge me $125. Plus he is not making me pay anything till I pick it up so I can make sure I am happy with it. :roll:

Got it undercoated yesterday. I think I'm all ready for the winter now.

My mileage took a huge nose dive recently. Gotta figure that out. Went from 13L/100kms to 17!

Couple of things

Ordered a new bug deflector from amazon. Originally ordered a sport hood for painting then got an email this morning saying it was damaged:roadkill: so refund issued. Figure save some coin and get the painting:artist2: going at my local paint shop. They dropped the price to make up for the difference.
