Fixed key lock in hatch,plugs,wires,Maf cleaning,new air filter, and fuel treatment with sea foam on the 2002 on the 1989 made a metal coolant bypass tube so I can try a red devil head gasket sealant treatment till I find a nice 3.4 to put in it

Did the starter contact replacement. Starter came right out between the transmission and power steering hard lines. Easy peasy. Replaced the lead on the bench and slapped her back in. Feeling of accomplishment level: HIGH

Do you have a 5 speed? Cuz it's the automatics that have all of the trouble with starter removal.

Sway Bar Bushings replaced today!

Ok, so today my sway bar bushings came in.

I will be honest, was a bit more of a pain in the A$$ than I expected it to be!

Here are what the bushings looked like on the truck:

This is the Prothane kit that I used, cost me like $13.99:

The 14mm bolt on the end link assembly was a complete and utter P.I.T.A. to get off because I was afraid of twisting the end link to all hell and back! Grabbed some channel locks to hold it while I used my 24" breaker to get it loose, then hit it with the air ratchet!

The 12mm bolt and the 12mm nut on each of the frame mounts were not that bad on the driver's side, however, passenger's side with the catalytic converter in the way caused 1 thrown wrench, and 3 foul words!

Eventuall, found a way to get my air ratchet up around the exhaust, and got the undone though!

All in all, saved $285, after Firestone wanted $300 between parts and labor to do the same job!

You are likely right though, somebody's rear end prolly got collided with.

Put in new upper and lower rear control arms. Man! Every bushing I replace this truck gets better and better. Last thing is the front LCA bushings. Hopefully I can get to it. I'm going to replace both axles while I'm there too.
Oh and I ordered an Ultragauge yesterday also.

All packed up to go camping last weekend.

Replaced left rear upper control arm, bushings were toast. Torqued bolts to 107 ft lbs. The right side looks good enough to wait for wallet recovery systems to function within parameters.

Installed my Midland 1001LWX CB tonight and also did the Blue wire mod quick in preparation for this weekend

Got my 1.25" wheel spacers on in preparation for my TBU parts. Need to do some trimming of the limited flares though. Tomorrow!

Swapped my AC compressor with one with less miles and I put a new AC clutch on it. Not a bad job actually. However, the belt I bought was way too short. I'll swap that out today and get the system charged tomorrow! AC is making it's return to my truck from nearly a year of "I gotta take care of that" mode.
