The phone connects with the OBD-II bluetooth adapter that you plug into the OBD port under the steering wheel dash. They sell a bunch of the adapters on ebay and amazon. very easy to setup-

The data is transferred straight to the phone so the readings are live & should be very accurate. The gauges all seem to work, temp gauge fluctuates after a nice drive & rev's are spot on, but I've only had this installed for 2 days now so I'm still learning the capabilities of this app. I'll have a better review as time goes by.

Hmm, I have an old iPhone that I'm not using, so that might work. Or get my old Droid from my brother. Thanks for the info!

The iphone adapters are a lot of money, the ones i seen are well over $100+ the least expensive one is the "innovate OT-2" looks cool though- however there might be a cheaper one out there...

Well now that I see it was at 1000 RPM I'm not so concerned. I guess I would ask what is it at 2500 RPM.

Hey Brian- it certainly does flucuate around 13v when reved up to 2500 and beyond... What is your average with the Big-3?

I'd be curious to know what it is after the 4runner has warmed up and is at idle. Anything under 13.4 may warrant the Big 3 upgrade as Brian said.

I took the 4R for a little drive yesterday and my battery voltage did drop quite a bit after warming up. The lowest point was 12.7 and averaged around 12.9-13.1v and cold starts are 13.6-13.7v

Yep. I have the same one. I've used mine a bit for temps and such. Pretty accurate as far as I can tell and I think I'm in for about $25-30 total. I like the look of the ultra gauge and may get one at some point but this does the trick for right now.

Gave her a nice bath today, put a little chevron techron fuel additive in and painted the center caps to the wheels. They were looking real bad after peeling and chipping. Got down to the mustard colored plastic and I just couldn't take it anymore. Painted them black with a dark red for the Toyota symbol. I'll post more pics when i can get some in the daylight. Pics aren't very good in the dark. Matches my blacked out emblems and I'm thinking about blacking the grille out this weekend. Should look good when all done.

Junkyard run! My knight in greasy clothes brought me:

a/c drain elbow

lower rear control arms out of an '02. I read the 96's were captive (top) vs the later models (bottom) so I got lower mileage later model arms that I can maybe replace the bushings in when they wear out? The 96's actually still look decent at 266,xxx miles

Unlike the upper rear control arms that looked horrible and were replaced with new oem arms. Non-replaceable bushings

Tested the 5 horns, all working- 4 Caddy, 1 Yota, and cleaned contacts while I was in there.

And got my not very frilly hd stereo in and use it with a cheap mp3 player- to replace the aftermarket cd changer (1999) and cassette stereo (2003) of which the cd changer was malfunctioning

The Mo4wd sticker is on for rep power

Awesome upgrade. Stops great, no more squeal from the old wobblies.

Bleeding the brakes was the hardest part, and only because something went badly wrong with the speedbleeders I got for the rear (the two on the front worked like champs.)
