Painted my grill black yesterday!

Ha ha very funny. My last runner had eyelids. I also don't like clear corners so I painted them.

Just imagine seeing it in your review mirror.
I wonder how it would look if you painted that little piece under the lights black as well? .... Maybe....

Hit the local junk yard and scored a front and rear cup holder both in perfect condition :beer:, a handful of HVAC knobs that I needed, a new fuel door (mine was missing the spring and also didn't close properly) new interior fuse access cover as well as center console arm guides all for about $25. Oh and I did the painted the shifter knob mod too.
Sometimes it's the little things like working cup holders that make me happy.

A bit of something to think about for the wheeler w/dual batts hanging off the inner fender like ours do...
From my truck-
The crack that was at the left rear corner of the battery box on the inner fender. It was welded and a brace added.
and the bracket on top from the battery box to the front support or whatever that thing is called.
I thought the box was solid enough as you had it, but that didn't work out well for me. I don't know if this is a common occurrence with this set-up or not, I hadn't seen anything about it before when I was doing my research.

Nice! For those who can't find working front cup holders and theirs are fine except the arms aren't springy:
I did this about a year ago-
See broken post in foreground, the one replaced with the nail was broken even lower down and didn't work at all:
Underside of cupholder. Nails lined up in holes where the plastic posts would have gone:
Nails nipped and ground down lower than the screw heads
And the topside. I used a dab of jb weld on the underside of the nail heads. Prolly doesn't need it because of how the holder fits into the console:

haha I bet youre stoked, probably worked up quite the appetite too... How long did you sit in the new seats and gaze out the windshield? maybe took a nap while the dead played through the stereo

Today I hung out with the pooches and soldered up a wiring harness for my dome light mod I have been planning for my '96 T4R. I also verified fitment on my custom bulb contacts for the map lights.
This dome light mod will allow the map lights and the rear cargo light to come on when any door opens including the hatch if the center dome light is set to "DOOR". Basically all lights will mimic the center dome light, e.g. when the center dome light is set to "DOOR" all lights will illuminate when a door OR the hatch is open, when set to "OFF" all lights will be off and when set to "ON" all lights will be on. The harness still allows for independent control over the map lights since I incorporated a diode into the harness. Without a diode the center dome light and the rear cargo light would come on if either of the map lights were turned on.
Trying to accomplish this mod without cutting into any factory wires was tricky, I also wanted everything to be easy to return to factory condition should I ever want to (will I ever want to?..heck no but my OCD loves clean installs
). I ended up centerdrilling a bolt head to hold the bulb, shortened it for clearance, passed it through a ring terminal and the bulb contact then nutted the back side. For the center dome light and the rear cargo light I cut off a plastic stud, drilled a hole where the stud was and installed a screw to hold a ring terminal down to the contact.
While making my harness I realized others may have an interest in this mod. If there is an interest I would consider making a few more harnesses and custom map light bulb contacts (which the harness requires) and selling a kit.
Needless to say I found the stock dome light set up annoying, especially while car camping. I am looking forward to not having to switch on multiple lights when trying to find something really quick, open one door and everything is on!

Awesome, I was thinking to myself just two days ago when I was replacing my stock interior bulbs with LEDS, that the dome lights need a door switch.
