What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Gutted the interior, trans filter/fluid, rear diff/ front diff fluid, engine oil, fuel filter, transfer case, removed running boards. Not a bad day for my 98 Limited I got for $900 that had engine noise, turns out the motor and tranny are fine, just typical valve tick. 340k and hoping to see it hit 400k. Also every single thing minus the clock work!

Today..I took my 4runner to jimmy johns and then drove it up in the hills a little bit. Someone's dog almost cut in front of me out of the ditch..would not have ended well for their pup.

Today I tried to program my new eBay key fob, but failed because the alarm on this truck (which I hate with a passion) kept going off when I tried to proceed through the steps. So I started digging under my dash, discovered I have an aftermarket Audiovox PRO 9233 alarm system. Went online and found the instruction manual for it and in doing so found out how to put it in "valet mode" effectively disabling it. Still need to get the key fob programmed, but at least I shut up that stupid alarm, so I guess I'm at least even on the day.

I have an amp under the drivers seat powering my components and rear door speakers so a fused power wire is already running from the battery. Remote comes from the deck and the ground is bolted down somewhere. The RCA's were bridged from the amp under the seat. The power, remote and ground wires allan key screw into a plug then that plugs into the side of the box(easy disconnect). RCA's plug in and bam, you've got bass.
There are a few tuning options on the side like gain, etc so once you play around with those and the remote bass dial you can fine tune it a bit. Again, for the price I'm quite impressed. A true box and separate amp set-up is definitely bassier(is that even a word. ha!) but it does add that bit of bump that's missing without being too crazy.

Preface- I drove around in a 2005 F-150 for 5 years just looking to help pull people out of ditches, snow embankments, anything. Always rolled with my recovery gear... Not once did I see someone in need.
Fast forward to today- sweet little Rose drove her little toyota(?) echo onto a median in a parking lot and high centered herself into a rock... I have had the 4runner for 2 weeks!!!!! Hooked up the tow straps and she was out in no time.

I took it to Autozone to have the codes read and removed(that didn't happend)and waiting for a long drive to read codes again after changing o2 sensor clean the cloged air flow sensor changing spark plugs so far i feel the difference more power more gas mileage .

in an attempt to rid my runner from the VSC OFF / VSC TRAC / CHECK ENGINE lights. So far, no joy. I will try again tomorrow as I have found a proper jumper and not just some paperclip, that fell beyond sight after second attempt.
These lights came on over the weekend. I was driving back home from some awesome rocks shows in Tacoma called Bleak Outlook. This took a bit of the wind out of my sails on the way home. Hopefully, I can get it sorted tomorrow.
