Swapped in some Bilstein 5125's in the back while I get my Icon's rebuilt... They're utter trash. Accelerating my back end dips down, hitting bumps I bounce all over. Garbage.

That's good to hear. I've been running LC OME shocks that I got from the junkyard for $5 bucks each and was looking to get those Billy's when my rears go dead.

LOL, oops my phone auto corrected that, "flex" would work better.
I dont know, we will find out about waterproof. From what I researched the cree are best. Its been raining since install here so its a good test. And if you mean submerging like in water crossings that will never happen. My winch is not even able to take that and either is the motor, starter, diff's, wheel bearings so it wont see water like that.

i liked fleas.
not submerged water crossings. Heavy rain, blast from car hose or pressure washer. Other LED's Ive seen are mucho more $. I also understand crees are top shelf, so I assume the variable is the housing. $40 all in is great.

So far they are good for 2 days of rain, one mud trip yesterday and a high pressure spray. Only time will tell.

Just got back from Kitty Hawk, NC where the girlfriend (well, now fiance since I proposed to her on the beach down there last Tuesday and she said yes) and I spent a week at a timeshare. 4runner did beautifully the whole trip, even through those horrendous potholes in the NYC area. (Glad I replaced all my shocks not long ago). As soon as we got back to Cape Cod I noticed a loud scraping/ grinding noise coming from the left front. Turns out it's just the brake dust shield finally rotted through and was just hanging and scraping the rotor. I tore it off. Also found a coolant leak. Lower radiator hose. Replaced it. While I had it up on the lift I also noticed a little brake fluid around the inside right front tire. Slight dribble at the bleeder. Tightened that. Found a little tranny fluid on the lower tie bar. One of the clamps on my auxiliary tranny cooler broke and thankfully the hose stayed in place on it's own. Replaced the clamp. Smelled a slight fuel odor and found the fuel filter leaking at the front line. Replaced filter. Adjusted rear brake shoes since my parking brake wasn't really holding tight since I replaced everything in the rear brakes a few months ago. (my parking brake bell cranks were completely frozen and shoes were down to less than 2mm). Parking brake is tight again.
Whew! 230,067 on the odo. I've done more work on this vehicle than any other that I've ever owned (besides my '83 Mustang restoration) and she's still running like a dream. My frame rails have rot at the usual areas near the exhaust and muffler but I'm not concerned about that since I doubt I'll get more than another few years out of it. I've been eyeing 2010 4runner's for a while now in anticipation of my next ride. It's gonna be sad to see my '01 go though. She's been a beast.

I had about a week of downtime between work trips, so I decided to knock out some work I'd been putting off.
I started out planning to do tie rods and upper and lower ball joints, and figured while I was at it I might as well do the brake upgrade. I got tie rods and lower ball joints in, but one of the uppers didn't ship when it was supposed to, so since the truck was down and I had the kit on hand I decided to go ahead an knock out the timing belt (I'm at 200k and have no idea when it was last replaced). And since that was apart I figured a new radiator was probably a good idea, so I did that as well.
So, in the last week it's gotten:
Inner tie rods
Outer tie rods
Lower ball joints
Steering boots
Tundra brakes
Timing belt
Water pump
Timing belt idler and tensioners
Accessory belts
A/C tensioning pulley
Upper and lower radiator hoses
Thermostat
Oil change
The upper ball joints and rotors will be here this afternoon, and hopefully I can get it all buttoned up tomorrow. :driving:
After this I still need to overhaul the rear axle (seals, bearings, and brakes), replace the fluids, and then I don't think there's anything else the truck needs as far as preventive maintenance goes.

Clay Barred 2 stage polish wet sanded some really bad spots and then Waxed, took me a while, since there were so many scratches.

Cleaned out some in the engine bay and underneath it to fixed the coolent leaked from one of the heater core hoses ....man I love green works haha..

Found out its not my heater core hoses ...I have no idea were my radiator fluid is going but I do know its not in my transmission....
