Reinstalled my front sway bar with ES bushings on the end links. Couldn't use the sway bar bushings themselves because they are too big for the stock brackets! Wish I knew that before I wasted $30 on them.

Did a similar dance though I was able to get them in with a whole lot of persuading. Second time 'round I was a bit wiser:

The fronts were 27mm Energy Suspension bushings per the website catalog and they barely fit in, this time I found some Prothane #18-1115 26mm. The fit was better than the 27mm, not a struggle to fit them in.

I believe the 27mm work on the Taco bars, if you have one of those hanging around.

Started to restore/repaint my Air Intake Plenum.... as it was starting to look a little grubby....



Used my wire wheel to get the bigger stuff, and used steel wool to do the smaller bits...



Here's a pic of what it looked like when I first painted it a few years ago....

Going to change things up a little under the hood... should be done tomorrow.... so Stay tuned to my build thread for a completed pic!

Don't worry man.... I'm working on restoring all those parts as we speak... lol! Probably won't get the intake done tonight... but in the end, the engine bay will look alot better than it did.

got my new to me 4 runner to idle correctly. cleaned the icv. was lucky did not need a new one, just cleaned and tested the way I read on the forum. It was idling at about 1100 to 1200. and sometimes idle down to 900 or so, Now idles at about a constant 850 like its supposed to, in park when warmed up,no jumping up and down

Legally, nope.

42-3-202. Number plates to be attached.

(1) (a) The owner shall attach the number plates assigned to a self-propelled vehicle, other than a motorcycle, autocycle, or street rod vehicle, to the vehicle with one in the front and the other in the rear. The owner shall attach the number plate assigned to a motorcycle, autocycle, street rod vehicle, trailer, semitrailer, other vehicle drawn by a motor vehicle, or special mobile machinery to the rear of the vehicle. The owner shall display number plates during the current registration year, except as otherwise provided in this article.
(b) If the department issues a validating tab or sticker to a motor vehicle pursuant to section 42-3-201, the current month validating tab or sticker shall be displayed in the bottom left corner of the rear license plate. The current year validating tab or sticker shall be displayed in the bottom right corner of the rear license plate. The tabs or stickers shall be visible at all times.
(2) (a) Every number plate shall at all times be securely fastened to the vehicle to which it is assigned, so as to prevent the plate from swinging, and shall be horizontal at a height not less than twelve inches from the ground, measuring from the bottom of such plate, in a place and position to be clearly visible, and shall be maintained free from foreign materials and in a condition to be clearly legible.

On the roof is not the same as on the front, which is part of why people who try and just put it on the dash are illegal, in addition to not being horizontal or secured. You're probably more likely to get a ticket for it from a meter maid while you're parked than during a traffic stop, but I have seen police walk to the front of the vehicle to look for a plate when they stop someone.

Hey dummy I just went to the dmv and they said I didn't need a front plate. Plus my family has been driving multiple cars without front plates. Also I've been pulled over multiple times with the license plate on the roof so I am not worried.

Then they told you wrong. Go ahead, look up the law I quoted, then go park at a meter downtown without one and see how long it will take for them to ticket you for it. Front plates have been required here for decades.

It's not hate, it's trying to stop the spread of misinformation that could potentially cost people money. More power to you if you want to run it there, but it is not properly displayed according to the state and you can be ticketed for it. I happen to prefer the strategy of giving the police as few reasons as possible to notice me.
