What did you do to your 3rd gen today?

Wasn't today but.... Replaced a crunched bumper and grill with aftermarket ones. I was lucky, no frame damage and only left side bracket damaged. Took all morning but saved a lot of money avoiding a body shop.

Replaced chrome with black painted one. Took only mild persuasion with a rubber mallet to get everything lined up.

did some serious work on mine today: replaced the cargo area bulb and heater control bulb.

tis the season to fix lights!

My alternator has been whining and squeal, so I replaced it today. It was the original I believe, I don't think the bolts have ever been off (Or it was replaced with a denso). If it was original, it lasted 205k miles and since '98.

Since I have a '98, I replaced it with a the alternator from a '99 for +10 amps.

Yesterday I went out into the mountains in search of snow... We didn't find much... a small patch about 1' x 2' x 2" under a tree. It did, however, snow on us for a couple seconds at 4000'. Then it rained.

I took a few pictures that I'll try and upload this afternoon.

Finally finished installing the Tundra 231mm brake upgrade - NAPA calipers, OEM pads, Brembo rotors. I ordered the Stoptech stainless brake lines but they haven't come in yet and couldn't wait any longer - will install those in the spring.

Also put on my stock wheels back on with winter tires, and installed my 02 taillights.

Tundra brake upgrade will probably happen next year for me. The PO replaced the brakes earlier this year and they are already warped. I am still trying to find 02 tail lights.

When I first got the truck two years ago I went through the whole brake system. At the time I didn't know about the Tundra brake upgrade, and went with stock NAPA replacements. I've warped the rotors twice since and have generally hated the truck's braking, to a point where I almost considered getting rid of it.

After the rotors warped the second time, I had just had enough. I am very happy with the upgrade, I noticed a definite improvement in the braking performance driving around last night and today.

Found the 02 tails from Eagle Eyes on ebay, and also picked up a set of Depo replacement OEM foglights. Need to get the new turn signal stalk with fog light control, then I will install those as well.
