I gave the rear end a makeover!...Also changed the oil, rotated the tires and got an alignment.

Made some brackets and used Autofab fiberglass mounts.
Nice! Came out really good, definitely dig the look
Not as bad as you'd think. I am poor(poorer, now lol), so no big dollars were spent.
Local guy makes the bumpers for $650 a pair, then $250 for sliders.
Spent about $1800 for everything installed anything I could myself. :clap2:

Replaced the fuel filter and installed the rear diff vent mod. I feel so much better now....
Hey, since the tranny on this series needs to warm up a bit to shift properly in cold weather, does it make sense to install a separate tranny cooler to avoid the milkshake syndrome, or are you training out one issue for another? I wanna do this but nor if it's going to become an aggravation...comments, experience?

I know I'm not in an extreme climate. Just read up on how the B&M 70255 unit works to keep tranny fluid temp warmed up - will still do this to avoid any radiator failures. I have 184k on thisi gem and am being proactive to avoid any unnecessary issues.
So many folks report great results with this unit on cars and trucks alike. Such an easy and protective mod is hard to resist!

Got my Drifter CB Mount but the weather didn't cooperate with me so I couldn't paint it. Hoping Saturday I can get that done and installed sometime next week.

I've had my 70268 in for a year and 20k miles with no issues at all. I've seen temps over 200* just a couple times but that was climbing hills at like 50 mph where it's hunting for gears and won't lock the torque converter. Nothing more than 208* I believe though. It warms up pretty quick still too. The only reason I'm thinking about going bigger is I've added a good bit of weight with plans to add even more in the coming months.

I recently purchased a roll of clear protective vinyl film to use on my headlights,corner lights,and bumper lights. Today I tried some on a corner light.
When a company describes their "clear headlight lens film" as "optically clear" (I'm quoting their exact words) shouldn't it be transparent? The film was translucent and matte in finish, basically the vinyl shelf/drawer liners you buy at Home Depot. Apply this crap on headlights and say goodbye to any light output.

Update: contacted their sales dept, they will be sending me optically clear and glossy PPV (Paint Protective Vinyl)

Did a synthetic oil change , lowered my back up lights so I don't lose light into my rear bumper, washed and rain x'ed all the glass.
Amsoil oil & filter change, manual tranny oil change (Redline MT 90 again), fixed a small area of the frame that needed reinforcement and changed my TRD cat back leaking exhaust to a JBA system as I needed to remove the TRD system that had not been removed since it was installed almost 15 years ago to fix the frame (guess where). The JBA is made of damn good quality stainless steel and is quite similar in sound to the TRD with a wee bit of drone at a specific rpm; only one complaint, the clamps are not stainless but I will replace them with stainless shortly.
- replaced the rear liftgate hatch struts with these.
- discovered that the e-clips are 6mm id. discovered that a 1/4" e-clip from home depot will replace any that escape into the local environment just fine.
- put a Viair 88P in the cargo bay for now. maybe mount later.
- replaced the left-rear brake/running light bulb (7443)... again. hmm. it's been 4627 miles and 7 months since I last replaced this same bulb.
- was outsmarted by the glovebox light cover. the game's not over, mister.
- read up on cb radio installations, antenna tuning, etc.
- read up on starter brush and plunger replacement.
Picked up a 22" mictuning light fo 5$. Not the best brand but cant beat 5$. My buddy had it sitting in original box I ask which ride he was going to put it on his kia rio or honda rukus. He picked it up and put it in my trunk :biggrin2:.

Did you buy from badlands? Can you post up pictures of the sliders? I am considering them but dont see any examples.
Nah I actually bought from a guy in Washougal area.
I'll hold my tongue for now, things haven't worked out as promised this far.
