What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I did my rear o2 sensor and the front showed up later for whatever reason. Anyways, rear went without a hitch. Tap socket on, pb blasted it the day before. Snapped loose and I threaded it the remaining way with my fingers.



Crawled my happy ass under it today to do the front. The picture shows the beauty that was before me. That tiny silver spot is from me attempting a quick turn if there was anything left that resembled a 6 point socket.

So, quickly ordered a pizza, got the whisky out, said **** and ripped the exhaust apart. Cut the studs off. Welded nuts to the studs, torched it, still seized. PB blaster, let it soak for 4 hours. Same thing. So I ground them flat, cleaned the surface, welded my new Denso o2 sensor flange right to it and threaded the sensor in. Filled the holes where the stud's were, made it look decent and put that ***** together.



No exhaust leaks, 219k mile o2 sensor's no more.

Holy [emoji90] man! Go big or go home. Well played, sir.

Well I tried to swap out the Transmission in my '00 Highlander/sport but ran into a comparability snag with the used transmission. It appears a few of the sensors are not compatible with my wiring harness, specifically whichever sensor is on the drivers side and has wiring that runs down into the case... Does anybody have experience on the compatability of these transmissions?

P.s. New here and I guess you can't start threads until you have so many post replies? What is the threshold for that?

Doesnt look like its leaking too bad. Just keep an eye on your oil unless it gets worse. Is it leaving puddles?

As for what I did today, I gutted my dash, pulled my grill to get ready for the trans cooler thats in the mail, finished some stuff for body work, sprayed PB blaster on all the hardware for the front suspension so I can throw the lift in it this week hopefully. Ordered a new seatbelt from the dealership. Just under 150 shipped. Local dealer wanted 207, and a dealer the lower half of the state had it listed for like 127 plus shipping.

Its not leaving puddles, i noticed a small patch underneath but there is plenty of oil build up mostly concentrated to the driver side. I dont think its the rear main and its definately not head leaking. You can only see the leak from underneath so i think its the oil pan but i know its a PITA to fix.

All depends on how bad you want peace of mind. Keep some oil with you if its not too bad. If you really want it fixed, power wash it and find the actual leak and fix it. I would say it definitely looks like an oil pan gasket.

I pulled one of my LED's apart and slide each wire between the plastic housing and the little metal connection.

Thanks for the idea! Did you use the squared off 3smd #74 or the single forward facing? My thought was to alter the single forward facing one and it sounds similar to what you did.

Pull the plastic housing off and make it work. Haha
