Seasonal detail job. Spent some time getting rid of brush scratches and stuff.

YUMM That gold flake! I love dorado gold but i sort of wish they had the updated darker gold color for the 3rd gens.

Also picked up another lens for commercial work. Canon TS-E 90mm (tilt shift). this lens is sharp AF!

thanks man! you can give a try at a technique called "free lensing" if you dont mind getting some dust in your sensor.

free lensing is pretty hard but once you get the hang of the focal distance from your object and tilt then youre good but its something you dont want to keep doing.

Pictures and 4Runner look great, AJ. I've never seen tilt shift used like that, but it looks cool!

Did my maiden voyage after the axle bearings and wheel swap. Drove 150 miles today, smooth and truck felt great. Went to the local Toyota dealer and things went from great to livid.

The sales manager there (I bought a cheap 40 mpg Corolla) was talking to me for over an hour about 4runners. He has a 50k mile cherry 3rd gen he daily drives. Long story short, he printed my original window sticker and carfax to help me out.

My truck was sold to me dirty apparently. The truck has a salvage title, but they somehow got it all sent through before it was reported. Carfax says it was totaled, so I'm giving the business I purchased it from an opportunity to compensate me some cash back for lying or I'll make sure every bureau and person I can expose them to hears about it.

I love my truck and it doesn't make anything different at this point, but I don't like being lied to and evidently shown an old Carfax before it was reported.

What would you consider an acceptable remedy? I cannot think of one. I also cannot imagine giving a business a chance to make something like this "right" before causing a raucous. Even if they offered you a full refund (which can not/will not happen, of course) I think I would feel it was my duty to share with others that this business is shady, and should either be avoided, or treated with extreme caution.

[MENTION=132328]99Runnr[/MENTION] I totally agree. There really is no remedy that makes this acceptable. I, and I know many others, would avoid a salvage title by all means. There's no way you're the only one that the place has done something like this to. It's a very clear indicator of the management's personality and lack of honor. The community should know to avoid dealers like that. Sucks to be in the situation man but glad everything has worked out thus far with the truck and no issues. Hopefully they can offer you something to at least show their remorse and not try to cover it up. /: good luck!

No more brake vibration

So I installed new front brakes and adjusted the rears and some other small maintenance stuff. Also flushed new fluid in the lines. Valvoline dot 3-4 compatible synthetic fluid. Truck stops well now. :happy::happy:

Yeah. I was shown a photo of how he acquired the truck. It had a door replaced and a front bumper. I was told it would remain a clean title though. Repeatedly, as well as shown a Carfax. There is a difference of fender bender, fix and proceed and total loss declaration. See my point? It's irrefutable loss of value should I sell this ever. Which correlates to a cheaper sales price.

It was a sneaky move. I will give them a chance to respond to my less then friendly message, as well as calling again when they are open. Some amount of money refunded would be acceptable to me. I will base it entirely upon how they act with the news.

When I got it and the transmission housing was cracked, they were so apologetic for example. However, they only offered to SELL me another transmission. They are a business, appears a shady one at that. If they refuse to assist on any level in this matter, I'm sure I'm just SOL with this situation. If they show some remorse, I'll gauge by their actions.

My truck has no rust, doors are all straight, aligns straight, frame rails are straight, ect. So I have that on a lot of trucks with clean title's, for me personally, I'm too invested to let it concern me. However, lying and cheating a customer aren't grounds for silence and forgiveness. So, I'll see what kind of response I get. People will hear about it though, most definitely.
