What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Lol sad thing is my wife and 15 yo daughter hate it...im going to be letting my daughter drive the bmw when she turns 16 in july, but she wants a black headliner and says this one is rediculous lol

How intense is changing headliners? I've been wanting to redo mine for awhile now. PO got mud all over the damn thing. I figured it made more sense to replace it then clean it.

Loosened all the bolts on the old rear axle, removed the handbrake, undid and clamped the rear brake line, removed the panhard, undid the ABS lines and removed the sensors and refitted rear wheels for wheeling the thing out..

On the new axle, cleaned and fitted the brake disks, adjusted the handbrake shoes, finished assembling and fitted the rear callipers and pads. started fitting the brake lines..

The headliner itself isnt that bad, you have to take the A, B, and C pillar covers off, along with the sun visors and oh shit handles. Takes an afternoon. The slider panel is a pita because you have to take out the actual sunroof itself to get it out (which is why mine in my bmw is still black).

I know in the 4runner, after i dropped the sunroof assy there were just 2 screws that held the stop blocks at the back of the tracks i had to remover, then the cover slide out the back by forcing the panel handle passed the brace.

Rear bumper mounted, rear springs back in, interior is back and all i have left to do in the morning is swap out two switches and run a wire for the driving lights then she will be ready for inspection!

Most unfortunately found hail damage.....on not 1 4Runner, but BOTH...:yell:

Insurance wants $500 a piece for the deductible, and I am more concerned they may try to total out the 3rd gen.

Most of the damage is on the roof, so I may just say forget actually making a claim on it.

You may as well total them out, take the insurance money, spend a few hundred buying it back, then buy whatever you want with it.

Best $139 I've Spent in a along Time

Did myself a HUGE favor and broke down and bought a Viair 400P from Amazon Wherehouse (barely damaged box) for $139 vs $199 new - love finding deals like that.

This thing is AMAZING after using a Pep Boys special for the last 2 years. Took my 33" BFG's from my usual 18 off-road pressure to highway 34psi in 2 minutes! So much better than the 8-10 min I was used to. And almost as surprising is how amazingly quiet it is compared to the other one.

If you do much deflating and need a very solid feeling and fast inflator I couldn't be more happy than I am with this one. Comes with a nice bag and accessories too.

i have the 300P and love it, keep it stored in my storage system and it fills my 32"s fine.

Alignment shop showed me play in my steering rack I installed 3 years back with poly bushings. I noticed a little loose steering but was not that bad. Found I could tq two bolts a little more including the PITA top 19mm. Now the steering is completely solid.

Going on a wheeling trip in the morning. Need to test the new warden Treadwrights, UBJ's, LCA bushings, spc cam bolts, and alignment. Hope she performs well and alignment don't slip. Will post some pictures of the trip. Brothers icon 4th gen will be accompanying me.

Just installed the redesigned spc upper ball joints. The one was installed about a year and had some play. The oil in boot was pretty much water. Now the have a grease zurk.

On my way to alignment shop that does lifted vehicles. Pricey but hope the can tune it right.

Whats the point for this?

That's actually how I ended up with the cash for re-gearing, tires and lift. Of course I blew threw all that pretty quick and it keeps adding up. But it's a good start!

I mean why is it an offset joint and the whole thing in general, the grease fitting is a brilliant redesign.
