Black sport hood in Junkyard

Hit my local junkyard today for a few items Here and took a picture of this 01 black sport hood in perfect condition for anyone interested. (I won't ship)

I took the factory grab handles out and put in some paracord ones in their place. Had to drill the head off of the driver side screws and spin the remainder of the screw out with vise grips. Adds a little bit of character inside I think. I also picked up my personalized plates today.

I don't have enough posts to make a topic so I'm posting here lol. But anyways the thread that your bolts for your seats screws into unattached and now I can't screw my front left bolt in on my seat.

Any advice?
Same seat, same nut came loose on mine. I made three cuts on the end of the rail so i could bend it open, used a screwdriver to hold the nut back up in place then welded it back in.

swapped my sagging suspension w/ cheapo Moog and KYB shocks from a '99 and gained a few inches of lift.

Finally got my SS brake lines on and bled down.. didn't notice much pedal feel difference, but i can say when i hit them now.. they stop and hold.. feels much stronger.

Also got in and correctly seated both LC 9.25 wraps in the rear, looks like the perfect setup for me.

Swapped out my Lower ball joints... the old ones were BAD, and fitted by me a few years back. Unfortunately I seem to have lent someone my proper scissor type and 2 prong ball joint removers so ended up having to hammer them out with a pickle fork and a BFH.

I thenremoved my intake pipes to get to my radiator return hose and replaced all the fittings and clamps in that...

Normal 4Runner surf time - 10 minutes
Mine, a few hours.

Hopefully it'll stop it leaking.

Unrelated but I am back home in Colombia and checking out a bunch of Hilux Surfs, Prado's and a BUNCH of FJ40's. The FJ's sell for about $2.5k USD. I may be importing one while I'm here for a month. This is the Nissan Patrol Diesel and the FJ40 Diesel my Uncle owns. View attachment 203565

Sweet! Are they that plentiful in South America? I REALLY want a FJ40. Finding one here that hasn't been fully restored or is in decent shape is difficult. I'm pretty sure the diesel version is the BJ40.

There is little to be gained other than a fun project. I would really like to convert to an electric fan but I have no need for it (and I live in Phoenix!!)

I do intend to install a T-cooler with a push fan, though.

Pulled the trigger on projectors and HIDS. Sold some rc car parts and had money for the big toy haha. This brings me to a question though. I know ideally you want 99+ housings for the clear lenses but has anyone done pre99 housings? I assume all it would do is distort the light output but I would think it would still be minimal. Anyone have any input on this? Otherwise I'm just collecting parts and I eventually want 99 housings anyway.

Oh and I finished painting my wheels today. Not happy with the color so after the tires are on I'm going to sand them with 600 grit and spray graphite and re clear. They are charcoal now and it looks like a dark primer... I thought it would be darker.
