What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Installed Hella 100w/55w bulbs. I've used these in a 911 and in my '85 Toy with good results. I know it's theoretically over the wire rating, but for the amount of time I run the high beams, I ain't skeered.

Next is to, via relay, turn on the HIDs when I turn on the high beams, (they're wired using the factory fog lamp harness and switch). That way I can turn on the HID's with the switch, and then dowse them with the high beam stalk. I did this on my F250 and loved the ease of use.

Changed the brake fluid, flushed the brakes, replaced font sway bar bushings with prothane replacements, continued doing rust remediation with rust oleum rust reformer.
Didn't get to the B&M 70268, as was unable to get the front skid plate off the 2000 limited.
I have soaked in PB blaster, and have accepted that they will likely twist off. Any suggestions?

Switched the external transmission cooler to the front of the condenser instead of behind the radiator.

Why would someone put the transmission cooler behind the radiator? Anyways I'm hoping for some cooler temperatures out of it now

Installed Lil Skips fuel tank skid plate on Saturday, tested it out Sunday. Realized today, I need more time in the pilot seat.

Those look really nice.
An extra 10 minutes with a wire wheel or brush, some brake kleen, and black rattle can, and that corner would present well to an admiring eye.

I've been meaning to clean up my undercarriage by scrubbing off surface rust and re-painting, just gotta get around to it

When you're not drooped your UCA is going to contact your c/o bucket.

I checked for any contact at full droop and flex and have about 1/4 inch more of a gap between the uca and coilover/bucket than when i started. Since then I've also cranked the coilovers a little over an inch higher and still don't notice any contact. I'm going to take it out for an off road test drive tomorrow to be sure though.

That's surprising! I've installed TC UCAs on two 4Runners now (99 and 00) and they both needed quite a bit of trimming of the bucket.

Guess you got lucky!

alternator took a poo! Replaced it in no time, easy job for those that are curious...took about half an hour just messing around.

I did find that I have no tensioner so a trip to the junkyard is in the near future...still got it pretty tight, just want it a little more snug.

=)
