What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Wheel'd the sh1t out of my 4Run and tested the winch vigorously. Had to take the pressure washer to the interior (dash, seats and all) to get that thing clean! Glad I herculined my floor!

Quick question of any winching / electrical guys in the know, my winch was very close to stalling out a few times, but it's rated at 10k. Is that a winch issue or battery issue? I'm planning a wire upgrade but I'm still waiting (12 weeks now versus the 4 I was told at order time :rant on my stuff from bumper to bumper.

Damn.... I took one look at that mud and said to myself, "Self, that looks like Alaska." LOL People don't believe me when I tell them we have to winch 4 wheelers and such downhill to get through the mud and water.

I prefer dry land myself! lol

As for your winch.... Your rig is probably close to 6k lbs. Stuck in mud like that, isn't easy on a winch. As I'm sure you know, you should double the weight of the rig for the winch. I only have a 8K, but as stated before, I don't go mudding. As my weight goes up, I'm sure I may upgrade my winch to be safe sometime in the future.

You're probably right, but I was thinking our curb weight was just under 4k so with my adds I was probably no more than 4.5k lbs.

Seat bottom swap. Driver side seam was starting to pull. Was planning on just swapping the whole bottom but the airbag pressure sensor ruined that plan!

Pulled everything and rest itched the fuggered seam.

Finally installed my front springs and shocks

Yesterday I finally installed my new front springs and shocks. With these OME880's and Rancho 9000XL's I found I had a 1.5 inch lift. I set the adjustable shocks to "3" and found the ride significantly softer and smoother on the pavement. I have yet to head off road--- when I do, I'll update my post. We'll see how it sits after the springs settle.

I need to re-weigh mine soon, but I did mine a year or so ago and if I remember right, it was at 6200 lbs. That's with two people and about 3/4 tank of fuel. That's everyday driving weight, no camping gear or anything extra.

That's what I was basing my comment on. I'm not sure how that compares to others on here, but I figured that was about average for a setup 4Runner.

So there is little to no off road options in the Twin Cities. I went home for the holiday weekend and my buddy's younger brother has a hobby farm type spread out in the bluff country of southeastern Minnesota. He is an avid hunter and has 4wheeler trails all over his property. The first trail I saw I immediately had the urge to go up it lol. After about an hour of convincing myself, I threw it in 4wd low and locked the rear diff. Snapchat videos were taken so it's in four parts. You can see at the end with the angle of departure how steep it was. No problems at all!

Nice, I've been questing for some Z bracket so it retains its shape (his looks to be sagging) but then again, maybe that sag is needed due to the tracks not being perfectly level.. Gonna hunt for some acceptable L plates tomorrow. Good lead!

Took my car in to get detailed today. I'm excited to see the results. My interior was pretty dirty after 3.5 years of ownership. They do a full shampoo and interior detail. They will also polish the exterior and wax.

I doubt yours weighs that much. Mine weighs 5000 exacty with front bumper, sliders, skids, roof rack, ~70 lbs of gear in the back, full tank of gas, and me (180 lbs).

Once I get my winch installed (One day, it's been sitting in a box for months...) and my rear bumper delivered I think I'll be right around 5300 lbs with me and a full tank of gas in a full armored 4Runner.
