Might want to check your frame as well. Doesn't look pretty.

Frame is fine. Wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't. The problem is salt. And that the sunroof drains go into the rockers and the drain holes plug up and they rot from the inside out. Everyone should check the drains on the bottom of your pinch welds make sure the water can get out

Frame is rusty but no soft spots. It will be getting treated very soon just need to fix the giant hole in the rockers first

Started ripping apart my rockers. Hope to stop the rust. Ordered outer rockers and dog legs from wolf steel. But still have to make inner and the brace from scratch.

I believe both sides. I know its on the driver side. Have not started passenger yet.

Changed out the fuel filter. I'm pretty sure it was the OE one from 163k miles ago..
She purrs like a kitten now! What a difference. Wouldn't have thought an old filter would cause that much of a rough idle. Sure enough. All smooth again.

Just got the call to go pick up my T4R at the shop. She's ready!



I usually like to do my own wrenching, but I just really didn't have the time or willingness and I needed to get this done before the snow flies.

Upper Ball Joints (Toyota) - Check
Lower Ball Joints (Toyota) - Check
Outer Tie-Rod Ends (Toyota) - Check
Inner Tie-Rod Ends (Moog) - Check
CV Axles (Cardone Select) - Check
Brake Calipers (Armature DNS 2000) - Check
Brake Flex Hoses (Pronto) - Check
Caliper to Flex Hose hard lines (Fabricated) - Check
3 Fan Belts (Toyota) - Check

I'm really happy that I can sleep easy about the front end though. Almost all of the boots (UBJ, LBJ, CV) were torn for God knows how long. I cringed at every pothole.

So I guess next up is for me to install the front sway bar, replace the shocks and get a proper alignment all while looking for a good welder.

Mmmm ... Shiny new parts!

Got the Total Chaos LT installed. After installing the Total Chaos cam tabs. Finally get to check that off the to-do list. Gonna have to update my sig now!!!

Replaced a very seized u-joint. Actually had to cut it out.
Being seized almost cost me a set of pinion bearings

She'll survive now with a new joint.

Installed '01-02 taillights, '01-02 grille (still on the fence about this one), transmission drain and fill and installed B&M 70624 cooler. Another one saved!


But alas, when it rains it pours. As I was cutting off the excess of a zip-tie, I clipped the condenser and left a nice pinhole sized leak. :drum:
