Trying to decide if attempting to mask the oval Toyoyta emblems in the hubcap would be worth it, or to say Eff it and paint them solid silver.
Either way, I am sure the feeling will pass once it is dirty again.:decision:

I swapped the seat bottoms between the driver's side and passenger's side.

My favorite sort of improvement - it cost nothing, made big improvement in driving experience and will make the interior last longer (the driver's side seat is just beginning to shred on the outside seam.)

This was yesterday but I cleaned my MAF from some dusty off roading last weekend on my 4-day trip. My check engine light came on while driving home and i had to get that puppy fixed.
I will say though thank god for this forum. When I was 18 I would have just bought the new MAF sensor for $70 instead of buying cleaner for $10.

Four bolts hold the seat to the floor. 4 more hold the seat bottom to the seat frame. A couple of Phillips screws hold the trim.

There is a seat bottom sensor in the passenger seat bottom that is not in the drivers seat bottom. I just left it disconnected and being as the light in the dash doesn't come on I'm OK with it.

I've read this is possible only on 2000 models and earlier - that the '01 and '02's use a different seat set up where the bottoms won't interchange.

YMMV.

decided to clean under my front seats, nasty looking stuff you can see under there, so removed the center pieces and front seats and cleaned it all. best part , i found $6 stuffed inside the center storage (on the bottom side), probably from a previous owner.

Oil change with Mobil 1 Synthetic and OEM filter. Checked fluids Just broke 205,000 miles last night. Washed it.

I have been looking at upgrading skids. Something that people don't talk about very much concerning their armor is serviceability. Like anything else I imagine that it's just a trade off. Protection for PITA oil changes and the like.

I've got schrockworks skids and there is a drain hole for oil changes. Just as easy as without skids.

greased up the driveshaft

2016-10-23, 151152 miles.
Greased the driveshafts today. Per owners manual:
Used Valvoline Durablend VV279 (w-moly) on the slide yokes & double cardan joint.
Used Valvoline Multipurpose VV615 on the spiders.
Purchased two $15 Lubrimatic guns at Walmart per recommendations on this site. That was well worth it, cannot imagine trying to switch out grease to go back and forth between the two types.

Never done this before so it was quite the 'experiment'. I accidentally disassembled the zirk attachment on the grease gun, luckily found the spring bearing and flanges that fell out. After getting that back together, I figured out that pressure from the gun is what holds the attachment to the zirk, not screwing on and off the attachment... :redface:
All 4 joints were caked up in mud and grease so I cleaned them with an engine degreaser and brushes. PITA.
Cardan and spiders greased up no problem. Wiped off the excess. But no grease squeezed out around the shafts after many, many pumps. Afterwards read here that I may have put too much grease in the slide yokes, so I'll depress the zirk ball tomorrow to release any pressure, hopefully will not need to do anything more than that.
Moving on down the list!

2016-10-22, 151152 miles.
Today I changed the oil in the transfer case, front and rear differential fluids. All the oil appeared to have retained a decent viscosity. (I have no idea about how frequently these oils were changed by the previous owner, but it was done at least once because the front diff drain plug was installed without a gasket.) I put Valvoline Synthetic Blend 80W-90 in the rear, CarQuest synthetic 75W-90 in the transfer case and front diff. All bolts reinstalled with correct gaskets and torques.
Up next:
grease the driveshafts
replace radiator, coolant & transmission fluid
paint / protect the chassis
replace brake fluid
engine oil sludge flush
then I can start my 'bubbafication'
