Installed new seat covers

Installed Coverking Leatherette Seat Covers. All in all am pretty happy with them, especially since I got them on a good sale from Auto Anything for Christmas.

Only complaints are there isn't a way to cinch the back covers down in the middle of the back like the original ones are. So they are a little "puffy" in middle of the back but sit just fine. The headrest are the most difficult and don't look as good as I'd like, might have to give them a go again on another day as my fingers are tired from wrestling them. I only changed them because the color difference was stark enough to look silly without changing them.

Removed the seats for tighter install.

As for what I did with the 4Runner- I towed my brother on skis around some back roads with a ratchet strap for a tow rope. redneck fun is the best kind of fun.

ouch. Thats a big ass nail. I'm actually a little surprised I never had an accident. We used to use the rubber finish ring to hold the pressure switch down and shoot nails around the job site back in the day. A friend of mine actually used to get in shootouts with his boss. shooting at each other with ringshanks. pretty stupid!

I have a couple questions about the fan you installed on your trans cooler.

1) Were you having temps that warranted getting it or was it just as extra insurance?
2) What fan is it (brand, size and cfm rating)?
3) How do you have it wired up, manual switch or temperature controlled?
4) What were your results with it, how did it affect your temps?

Im wondering because after my last snow wheeling trip I was starting to see temps in the trans pan that peaked at around 200 degrees and Id like to get that down a little. I have the B&M 70268 and It works great Id just like to get a little more cooling efficiency out of it at slower speeds. Thanks

well i learned something new today after messing with the old e28 5 series all weekend trying to get new spark plugs in it.





apparently you can unscrew the covers on spark plugs to make them fit the Bosch ignition on the older BMW's. 25 years old and i had no idea this was a thing.

also in the market for a new daily driver, looking at either a 2004 A4 USP, or a 2004 A6 Avant. Missing having an audi, thinking coilovers or maybe bag this one.

1) When I go wheeling I have been hitting temps up to 240*, even with the cooler in series with the radiator one. I figured that the mechanical engine fan was not getting enough air to the front cooler at the slow speeds. The e-fan should fix this.
2) I went with this fan.
3) Right now I do not have it wired up. I am waiting for my switch to come in the mail. I am going with a mechanical one since I didn't want to have to deal with a temperature controller.
4) I will let you know when I find out! :thumb:

Laid down a guide coat of primer...needs some fine tuning but I am happy with the results so far.

Man, I feel your pain . I've done that a couple of times , once I pinned my middle finger to my ring finger with a 16 . If you haven't already soak that finger in salt water .

Awesome, thanks for the reply. Depending on how big of an increase in cooling you see I may be doing this same setup soon.

I pulled and cleaned my throttle body in an attempt to fix a hard-starting/poor cold idle issue, but no luck.

TB was stupid clean for 223K miles
