What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Changed oil, rotated tires, reinstalled my head unit that I customized last night. I'm thinking of writing a longer thread about my experience; this was my first time soldering smd leds. Man, the 0603 size are tiny! Overall, very happy with the result. The Pioneer T1806 (from an '06 Scion xB) has a color changing screen, which I usually leave on blue, but the buttons are orange. I wanted it all to match, settled on the blue/lime green scheme and went to work. I also changed the "on" led of the rear and front defrost buttons (which were orange) to lime green (like the a/c, air flow and auto buttons), which were 3mm leds. Plus, I don't have to change the clock color now, haha.

I think now it all matches, looks somewhat oem/clean and the two knobs of the radio blend nicely with the knobs of the digital thermostat.

I also installed jdm-style fender turn signals that came from an xA donor...cutting into the sheet metal was stressful!

Another -40 degree day in the north...

Just took her around town to run some errands. Picked up my new water pump and my headlight housings finally arrived for my retrofit. Going to see what I can cobble together from my assortment of HID parts.

Discovered that the forward u-joint on my driveshaft was finished at 203,800 miles. Not a replaceable part apparently, had to put in an entire driveshaft, pretty expensive part, easy replacement.
I guess if there's a lesson for us, it may be to push some lube in those u joints every 50,000 miles or so.

Or every oil change. Easy enough.

Took the 2wd T4R to the slopes. Chains required. Performed flawlessly, even helped push some FWD cars up some hills.
Awesome day on the slopes as well

Just showing off my imported 2001 90 Series Prado (Shares the same chassis as you 3rd gen guys). Its got a D4D 1KD-FTV common rail diesel in it and its quite peppy. One of the main reasons why I didn't wanna go with a local T4R with the 5VZ

Installed Tundra 5100s with Toytec/Eibach fronts, along with 5100 rears and LX470 springs. That was on an empty tank so the rear is sitting high and was unsettled. With a full tank and after a weeks worth, its leveled off quite a bit. Still plan on dropping in 7.5 or 8 wraps instead though.

^^ Sweet ride, like to see more photos of this one / and a diesel, nice.
Curious - what country imported from & is it left hand drive ??

I imported it from auction in Japan and paid an exporter to document and ship it over to me. It is RHD though but honestly, I've gotten used to it pretty fast. Luckily I live on the west coast and shipping from Japan to the ports here is relatively quick and pain free. I'd like to post a journal but not sure if I wanna wait until I get some more parts on and document it all.

Took my running boards off yesterday. Been planning to take them off for a while, but had one of the supports on the passenger side break causing it to sag in the back. So off they came. If the rain holds off a little bit longer, I'm going to try to tackle the oil here in a bit.

Checked the beast over, topped off all fluids and drained my oil catch can. Oh, and replaced my accelerator cable a few days back. :bluejump:

Detailed the interior out, and added bushings to my shifter since the previous bushings disintegrated. Tighter then a dolphins butthole now!
