I'm going to fix multiple oil leaks... both valve covers, rear main seal... also I am going to install headers, and a new cat-back exhaust system.

It's been a while...

Haven't posted for a bit but I've been lurking. The Runner is my daily 3-4 months out of the year so I do t spend too much time and money on it however recently I've done a few things over the last year:
New suspension (99 springs and KYB gas adjust shocks)
Polished and sealed the paint for the winter
Fixed the hole in the original muffler with a Magnaflow. Replaced Magnaflow with a Thrush Hush (separate post to come)
VSC button
Repainted the trailer hitch and used Forever Black Bumper and trim Dye (awesome stuff)

Roof rack, spoiler, license backing, and bumper refreshed.

Window trim, grill, and running boards(don't kill me!) are still to come.

I checked how much a new Shrockworks will squat my rig. Still working on how to get the weight even more foreward. Worn out 256K suspension = 3/8" lower.

Nope, It's a really old unit.

Double DIN DVD head unit, and the nav/Bluetooth were external add ons.

The more recent external ones (Still compatible with my head unit) is a solid state one that updates over the net (or SD card, can't remember).

I did try with um, "backing up another version I had" but the disks have some clever encryption. A proper late version of those maps would cost more than the entire setup, with headunit would cost!

I am half thinking about updating for a newer unit, like the Alpine X800D-U, which has nav/Bluetooth, DAB all built in and an 8" screen... but they are over a grand... and I've already spent too much! I suppose in new maps for my old one would be 300 or so, that instantly makes in nearly 1/3rd cheaper *ManMaths*

I had someone bend the bow since I don't have a bender but I did everything else.

Good to know you're a welder. I might need your services one day unless I start doing some welding myself.

Drove home from Nevada, best leg through the mountains on US 395 was 323.2 miles on 15.3 gallons, a little better than 21 MPG.
18.9 MPG around town in NV. Must be the altitude.

Oregona and SW Washington Overland Bound Get Together

Great little get together with about 40 Overland Bound Members and vehicles at Royal Treatment Fly Fishing in West Linn. Thanks to Joel for hosting this event. Plenty of food, friends, and camaraderie. Of course there were a lot of fantastic rigs.

Got some recovery stuff from Home Depot. A shovel, cable, lock few other stuff. I also picked up this d shackle

Husky 3/4 in. Bow Shackle 54535 at The Home Depot - Mobile

It's so cheap and comes with the rubber thing.

I ended up paying $15 per shackle from tractor supply store. Plus those isolators from Amazon weren't cheap either.

Great looking trucks. I just had the Overland Bound group come to my attention recently... what's the deal there? Is it another forum of sorts, or is it primarily the blog of a couple people?

Just saw those at home depot last night. Theyre new (atleast around here). They also have recovery straps rated for 7500lbs if I remember correctly.

Well, congratulations! I just saw you became a member. I guess the big thing about the group is we're not elitist's. It's not vehicle specific and it's a great group. We live by the definition of "Overlanding is Vehicle Dependent" We make no effort to try and further define it. I think you know there are core principles to abide by. Sharing information within the community and on here is key.

Here's a video about it. For me, this is what it's all about. I've always been an adventurer. I just so happen to have a 3rd gen and belong to this great community as well.

This is awesome. I follow OB peeps on Instagram, and I'm never looked into it. I'm on a slow road to finally pursuing some overland adventures, mainly due to some budget concerns, but it's awesome to see badge wearing members here on this forum too. I hope we run into each other sometime!

Finished up the base of my storage system. All 3/4" Russian Birch with two 30" drawers and a piece of 1/4" luan on the bottom.
Taking ideas from other members, the back 10" is removable to store a spare CV axle. Haven't decided on whether to keep it loose or use a piano hinge.
The 500lb lock in/lock out drawer slides may have been a tad overboard...
