Now you have to go break them in. I always trust the quality of my work so my break in procedure went as follows.

Double check everything.
Get in truck.
Drive on highway at 85mph.
Exit onto dirt road.
Drive on dirt at 55mph.
Return home.
Re-torque.

Repeat as often as possible except for the re-torquing. lol

Replaced the valve cover gaskets. Not too terrible a job, just a bit tedious. The brittle plastic on the driver's side made things interesting for a few minutes there as I fished pieces out of the engine.

Looking pretty good for 250k +

well it was at a buddy's place who has a lift, did some off-roading on his property and then drove 50 miles home. possibly heading to the forest tomorrow.

I had to remove my locking lug nuts without the keys last night. I hammered an undersized socket onto the lug and carefully moved it around in each direction. Each of them came off, and I had to use a punch to get them off of the socket.

I also started removing my suspension and brakes today! I finished taking off the coilovers, UCAs, LCAs, spindles, CV axles, and brake components from the front. Tomorrow, I'll be finishing up the driver side removal and start reinstalling some things like the LCA, steering rack, and sway bar bushings. Hopefully I cam weld on the spindle gussets too, but we will see. I also finally received my Icon packages after waiting 1.5 months!! Super excited for them.

Airbags!

Finally got to put my Airbags in. Super easy install, took me about 45 minutes. I decided to leave the bags separate. It seemed more logical if I'm offroad to have them separate and lower psi than on road. If they are tied together and the vehicle is leaning sideways (off-camber) wouldn't the air go from the compressed bag to the other one and make it lean more?

Either way, they greatly improve the ride at 6-10 psi and will help with our fishing trip this week (4 adults, coolers, tents and etc).

Nice. Looks like ICON CDC. Did u go custom length for rear ? Because icon only makes 0-2" lift shock for rear. And 3" for front. Makes no sense to me.

Put some new sway bar end link bushing in. Picked them up at O'Reilly's for a whopping $13.

I have the factory front end links on the rear and 2nd gen 4Runner rear end link on the front. Works perfectly for my 3 inch lift.

Installed 2nd gen Moog sway bar end links on my rear with 2" lift. Sway bar is now parallel with lower trailing arm again

Picked up a 99 SR5 last week and have been doing a few cosmetic things too it and now am going to start doing some routine maintenance on it to get a base to go from.
Truck has 144k in it and has little frame rust, this forum has been very informative and I had a list of stuff to check before purchase, it's not perfect, but it's in decent enough shape and finding a 4wd SUV down here is pretty difficult so I jumped on this one.

When I first looked at it the dealer informed me that the fuel gauge didn't work (showed always empty) but he was sending it off to get the fuel pump replaced. So I took delivery after it was supposedly fixed but it now reads complete opposite, always full. I've been reading all the fuel gauge threads but those all talk about showing empty. Is there a different fix for always full?

I also uninstalled the old Hornet alarm system that was in the 4runner when we bought it. I was able to put the 4runner into programming mode for the factory fobs so I ordered a couple of those to hopefully be able to use.
I got almost all of the old system out aside from the ignition cutout relay harness, but I moved the relay down into the kick panel area so I have the option to kill the ignition if I ever had the need. Looks 1000% cleaner behind the dash now. It was driving me nuts knowing it was behind there before.

They are indeed! I went with the ones meant for the 4Runner. I spoke with an Icon rep since I was concerned about that as well, but they assured me that the website was incorrect and the are meant for 0-3" of lift. Hopefully that is true!
