What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Changed out plugs. Mainly for an experiment. Old plugs have roughly 60k miles, platinum NGK single electrode. Average MPG of 24. ( threads/plug tops were a little oily but that because these we in before i did the VC job).

New plugs are the ones most people insist you have to run. We will see what the numbers say over time

What suspension / wheel set up did you use to clear 315's past the UCAs?

1999 will not start.....

Greetings. A friend of mine gave me his 1999 4-Runner for free with the caveat that I remove it from his property.
I put in a new battery, one new tire. Four gallons fresh fuel. It only starts and runs with starter fluid.
Still will not run on it's own. Been sitting five years.
Putting in a new fuel filter today. It ran when it was parked five years ago. It has 219,000 miles. 4.2 litre quad-cam V6, automatic, two-wheel drive. Loaded with leather, power everything.

I can't post any thread since I am new.

HELP!

Update: Replaced filter. Pump is silent. Most likely will replace the pump. Went through back seat and found an access plate for the tank harness. Looks like I'll have to drop the tank. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being very easy and 10 being a royal pain in the a$$, how difficult is pump replacement?

If it runs when YOU supply the fuel then it only makes sense to diagnose the parts on the truck that are supposed to do that job. Fuel filter is probably worth changing out but I'd be looking at the pump.

Also, it's more than likely a 3.4 in there, not a 4.2.

Replaced the original PCV with the same OEM part 12204-62010. Truck runs a little more smooth.

Toytec/Eibach suspension with Fat Pats 1.5" body. Factory 5 Star wheel with 1.50" spacer up front

Installed a new Pioneer deck and Rockford Speakers. Sounds great and was excited to get rid of the tape player and broken disc changed under the seat. New deck doesn't even play CDs, it's pretty cool.

I've been researching those for the past several weeks. Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood, others. .... each have drawbacks and advantages. One issue with Pioneer was slow or issues with Bluetooth connections. Which model did you settle with? How long does it take for it to connect to your phone (iPhone or Android )? I like Pioneer because it comes with the remote as standard.

I haven't messed with it too much so I can't comment on it with any real knowledge but I did notice Bluetooth connects pretty quick, said it was ready within 10 seconds of starting the 4runner.
My wife's navigation in her Sonata is the worst, takes at least 45 seconds to be fully connected and ready to use. The JVC deck in my work car is real quick, like 3 seconds. We use Android phones.
Thanks for reminding me about the remote, I put the box up in the garage and forgot to take it out.
