Still working on my rear bumper & swing-away, when I came across my cluster that has cracks slowly growing. I also wanted to modernize my cluster & have done searches for the last hour. I will be switching out gauges and probably be doing some massive soldering but being I used to be a old Electrician, should be able to..haha.

It's an interesting idea, and it's possible a neutral color over that orange spot would work on any color 4runner [emoji848]

Yes, the rear factory springs should have been the same, same paint code on each.

Are you sure your new springs were not side specific? 1.5 inches is pretty crazy. Did you have that much lean with the factory springs? If not, you got the new ones backwards.

My pre measurements had the passenger side higher than the driver's side. The new springs have the same difference just both are higher than the old warn out ones. Don't have the exact measurements on me at the moment.

Sweet! I'm also putting the Wildpeaks on in the next couple of weeks. Love my Cooper ATPs and have nearly 80k on them but the Wildpeaks look as good or better so I'm giving them a shot next.

My 265/75-16's came in today so I had them mounted. Huge improvement over the old weirdly worn (car was clearly not aligned for a long time before I bought it) all seasons.

The last item, the brass mufflers are for the breather vents I'll install, I want the sintered brass to keep the dust out.

After hitting my head too many times, I installed new Strong Arm 4286 rear lift hatch struts. Ordered from Amazon.
The rear lift hatch is very heavy and needs to be supported with a rod or a helper.
After replacing the right strut, attaching the top first then struggling with the wave washer on the bottom, I decided to install the left side bottom first so I wouldn't have to support the hatch while wrestling with the wave washer.
Much better.

Played with some plasti dip to give my tired old wheels a fresh new look. Also body color matched the ugly orange corner lenses until I stop being cheap and actually buy a set of clear ones.

Those rims look sick now, also I really like painting the corner light, how did you do it? just paint it with regular paint?

Progress from today. I'm using thin-walled 1/2" tubing to stitch it back together. This can be easily bent/shaped using a conduit bender. It should look "stock" when I'm done with a nice radius in the wheel well. I'm not worried too much about the exterior appearance (to an extent) because I'll be covering it up with flares anyways.



Cutting out the rust made for a nice grounding spot! :faint2:

I installed new self adjusters on the rear brakes, changing from the style that mounted behind the brake shoe to the style that mounts in front of the brake shoe. These fell like they will actually work. Also flushed the brake system and properly adjusted the e-brake system. This little rig stops pretty good now, better than any day in the past month that I've owned it. :jump:
